12:19 AM day is now known as daey
01:51 AM day is now known as daey
03:23 AM Emil: xentrac: read return value
09:16 AM Emil: Hmm
09:16 AM Emil: So I'll make my own heating owen
09:16 AM Emil: Reflow*
09:17 AM Emil: Idea would be to be fairly portable
09:19 AM Emil: Now I'd rather it be passive so I'm wondering how to get even heating, potentially by having passive convection
09:28 AM HighInBC: what do you mean by passive? Like the heat distributes itself?
09:28 AM Emil: Yeah
09:28 AM Emil: no fan
09:28 AM Emil: if possible
09:29 AM HighInBC: I _think_ they work mostly from radiant heat and that ambient heat lags behind the curve
09:29 AM Emil: Really?
09:29 AM Emil: I thought that was for IR
09:29 AM HighInBC: I know that in some homemade one they need a fan or at least opening of the door to cool at the right speed
09:30 AM HighInBC: it is all so fast
09:30 AM HighInBC: the ones I have seen are just toaster ovens with a MCU to control the elements
09:30 AM HighInBC: it is such a small space there is not much room for a temperature gradient
09:31 AM Emil: Exactly what I'm after
09:32 AM Emil: So one idea I have is having this grill like structure that allows air to pass through but blocks direct visibility to the heaters
09:32 AM Emil: on both sides of the pcb
10:25 AM Emil: Hmm
10:26 AM Emil: I wonder if I could do a pcb heater :D
10:29 AM Emil: How hot can fr4 stand?
12:19 PM polprog: 100c definitely
12:31 PM Jartza: haha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SMNJ0hM4jc
12:31 PM Jartza: testing ESP8266
12:34 PM Lambda-Aurigae: up and running my "new" workstation.
12:35 PM Jartza: that must be the BEST ever Internet of Things -application here
12:35 PM Lambda-Aurigae: dual 2.8ghz quad core hyperthreaded xeon with 32GB ram and 3 147GB 15Krpm sas drives
12:35 PM Jartza: you can switch the led state and look at it in live video with 20 second lag!
12:35 PM Jartza: I'm very proud of myself now
12:35 PM Lambda-Aurigae: hehe
12:35 PM Lambda-Aurigae: kewl.
12:37 PM Jartza: the url to switch the led is in the youtube video description
12:54 PM Emil: Jartza: nice
12:55 PM Jartza: internet of the stupidest things :D
01:02 PM Lambda_Aurigae: During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how do you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized.
01:02 PM Lambda_Aurigae: "Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub."
01:02 PM Lambda_Aurigae: "Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup."
01:02 PM Lambda_Aurigae: "No." said the Director, "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"
01:09 PM Jartza: (y)
01:13 PM Lambda_Aurigae: (y)!
01:22 PM enhering: :)

02:26 PM Jartza: :D
02:26 PM Jartza: the comments
02:28 PM enhering: Very nice, Jartza
02:30 PM Jartza: thx
03:16 PM enhering: https://hackaday.io/project/11724-yauvc-yet-another-unmanned-vehicle-controller/log/63899-laser-cutting-a-prototype-on-paper
03:16 PM enhering: cehteh?
03:16 PM enhering: Are you around?
03:27 PM Emil: enhering: matey
03:27 PM Emil: enhering: trust us
03:27 PM Emil: enhering: that design has a lot of flaws in it
03:32 PM Jartza: haha
03:33 PM Jartza: 129 playbacks on my led-video
03:33 PM Jartza: average watch time almost 5 and half minutes
03:34 PM Jartza: sooo... people can watch led blinking for over 5 minutes?
03:34 PM Jartza: upload video containing some theory or talk about important matters, and people leave after 1 minute :D
03:46 PM enhering: I'm trying to find a solution to mechanically hold the modules, Emil
03:46 PM enhering: And still have a bus connecting them
03:56 PM rue_shop3: pcb + 3d print
04:14 PM Jartza: I enhanced the led toggling page
04:14 PM Jartza: http://212.237.59.155:35555/led
04:14 PM Jartza: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SMNJ0hM4jc
04:15 PM enhering: Is it blinking?
04:16 PM Jartza: you can select what it does
04:16 PM Jartza: video has some lag, though
04:17 PM enhering: I toggled it a few times
04:17 PM Jartza: yeah. you can see it in youtube video live, with 10-15 second lag
04:36 PM Lambda_Aurigae: enhering, snap in 30pin simm modules.
05:29 PM xentrac: Emil: ah, yes
05:31 PM Jartza: seems the led blinking pace is slowing down
11:40 PM day_ is now known as daey
