01:48 AM Emil: xentrac: usually on in irclogs folder in your ~
03:00 AM xentrac: heh
06:11 AM skz81: rue_house, Tom_itx Thanks ! Some buddies here, me included, were searching for it few days / weeks ago
09:41 AM dsal_ is now known as dsal
09:42 AM stephe_ is now known as stephe
10:03 AM arij is now known as arij_work
11:36 AM polprog: Emil: probably etching today
11:38 AM polprog: Emil: some tracks joined with the fill, at first i thought that the clearance is too small, but then i read a guide saying not to "iron" them like clothes (moving the iron over) but instead, hold the iron upside down and apply pressure to the board
11:38 AM polprog: Emil: i'll probably be transfering the image again
11:39 AM Lambda_Aurigae: polprog, two irons pressed together works well too.
11:39 AM Lambda_Aurigae: I've seen people mount them like on a drill press.
11:39 AM polprog: ive got one iron :D
11:39 AM Lambda_Aurigae: but, yes, moving the iron around does tend to smear things.
11:40 AM Lambda_Aurigae: https://www.proworldinc.com/mp993-transpro-mini-heat-press.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaig
11:40 AM Lambda_Aurigae: I use something similar to this.
11:40 AM polprog: it has small openings in the metal part to allow steam to go out during normal operation and that made the first image not stick in those places... that's where the smearing idea came from
11:41 AM Lambda_Aurigae: only it is heated top and bottom.
11:41 AM Lambda_Aurigae: yes...a non-steam iron works well. they are made for hobby work.
11:42 AM polprog: it looks full-profi ;) keep in mind my electronics working shop is 3x5 feet of desk and a cupboard
11:42 AM polprog: workshop* jeez
11:43 AM polprog: "working shop" :D
11:50 AM Lambda_Aurigae: full-profi?
11:51 AM polprog: yeah, that's what we say in polish ;)
11:51 AM Lambda_Aurigae: no clue what it means
11:52 AM polprog: fully professional
11:53 AM Lambda_Aurigae: oh
11:54 AM Lambda_Aurigae: well, the one we have is professional grade for doing iron on decals
11:54 AM Lambda_Aurigae: got it for the wife so she can iron on photos for memory quilts.
11:55 AM polprog: wow. i always liked that kind of art
11:56 AM Lambda_Aurigae: she makes quilts with alternating white squares...then on every second white square she puts a picture.
11:56 AM Lambda_Aurigae: leaving some available for people to write on with fabric markers.
11:57 AM Lambda_Aurigae: great for weddings and funerals and baby showers and such.
11:57 AM polprog: cool
12:06 PM polprog: the mailman has just handed me the electronics
12:06 PM polprog: nice :)
12:06 PM Emil: ETSAA JO!
12:07 PM Lambda_Aurigae: Emil, that sounds kinky.
12:08 PM Emil: SYÖVYTÄ JO!
12:08 PM Emil: Is that communist kinky?
12:09 PM Lambda_Aurigae: no clue
12:17 PM Lambda_Aurigae: hmmm...need to see if I can finagle UPDI for these new chips.
12:19 PM antto: wat chips?
12:21 PM polprog: UPDI?
12:21 PM polprog: what's that
12:22 PM * antto shakes Lambda_Aurigae
12:22 PM antto: TELL US
12:22 PM polprog: I CRAVE KNOWLEDGE
12:22 PM antto: I MUST KNOW
12:22 PM Lambda_Aurigae: new attiny1614/1616/1617
12:23 PM Lambda_Aurigae: it's the new programming interface.
12:23 PM antto: uh
12:23 PM antto: does it have anything to do with xmega PDI?
12:23 PM Lambda_Aurigae: similar I think.
12:23 PM Lambda_Aurigae: would have to read the xmega books to see.
12:24 PM polprog: oh. i heard about that new programming stuff
12:24 PM Lambda_Aurigae: it's proprietary but not secret...all the info is in the datasheet it looks like.
12:24 PM polprog: woud i have to buy a new programmer or is it compatible?
12:24 PM antto: xmega pdi is two signals.. on dedicated pins (which cannot be used for other crap) .. RESET/pdi_clock, and pdi_data
12:24 PM Lambda_Aurigae: updi is one pin
12:24 PM Lambda_Aurigae: the reset pin actually
12:24 PM antto: o_O
12:24 PM polprog: :0
12:24 PM Lambda_Aurigae: uart half duplex
12:25 PM polprog: holy molly
12:25 PM Lambda_Aurigae: you use 12V to initiate it I think.
12:25 PM Lambda_Aurigae: just did a quick browse through.
12:25 PM Lambda_Aurigae: this is one of the new hybrid chips.
12:25 PM antto: then it's not xmega PDI
12:25 PM Lambda_Aurigae: avr core, xmega-ish programming, pic addons
12:26 PM Lambda_Aurigae: like a DAC
12:26 PM antto: which compiler?
12:26 PM Lambda_Aurigae: avr-gcc should support it with the right patches.
12:26 PM antto: okay, that's good
12:26 PM Lambda_Aurigae: it's a standard attiny processor core.
12:26 PM antto: but i don't think i'll use it
12:27 PM polprog: > ST implements ICSP into a new picvr microcontroller
12:27 PM polprog: pic addons might be interesting
12:27 PM Lambda_Aurigae: the one I want is a 24pin qfn package
12:27 PM polprog: qfn is the lead-less one?
12:28 PM Lambda_Aurigae: yup
12:28 PM Lambda_Aurigae: quad flat nolead
12:28 PM polprog: it's next on my list after 0603
12:28 PM Lambda_Aurigae: ICSP is the pic in circuit serial programming....ISP is the old atmega/attiny In system Programming
12:28 PM Lambda_Aurigae: TPI is the newish tiny programming interface
12:29 PM Lambda_Aurigae: PDI is the xmega programming interface
12:29 PM Lambda_Aurigae: and UPDI is the new hybrid avr/pic programming interface it seems.
12:29 PM antto: next will be 0PDI
12:29 PM antto: like UPDI but one less pin
12:29 PM Lambda_Aurigae: Unified Programming and Debugging Interface
12:30 PM polprog: i hope ISP is still available there
12:30 PM polprog: ?
12:30 PM antto: where?
12:30 PM polprog: on the UPDI ones
12:30 PM Lambda_Aurigae: not on the new attiny161x series
12:30 PM Lambda_Aurigae: nope nope nope.
12:30 PM Lambda_Aurigae: just UPDI
12:30 PM antto: why would it have two kinds of programming?
12:31 PM Lambda_Aurigae: antto, some had that 1-wire and ISP.
12:31 PM Lambda_Aurigae: Debug-Wire rather
12:31 PM antto: they are trying to reduce the number of dedicated pins for programming
12:31 PM polprog: whatever... i guess by the time i will have to worry about it i probably will have a couple different flashers
12:31 PM Lambda_Aurigae: but that was mostly for debugging...could be used for programming
12:31 PM Lambda_Aurigae: I'm hoping to modify my tom-itx programmer to handle UPDI
12:32 PM antto: just modify Tom_itx to make a new programmer
12:32 PM antto: >:)
12:32 PM Lambda_Aurigae: or a new firmware for his old programmer!
12:32 PM specing: Tom_ATX
12:33 PM Lambda_Aurigae: Tom_UPDIx
01:23 PM Emil: Lambda_Aurigae: also add spi passthrough
01:24 PM Emil: About time that should be implemented
01:24 PM Emil: perhaps with some easy protocol
01:24 PM Emil: polprog: did you make the board already?
01:53 PM polprog: Emil: no :(
02:09 PM Emil: mate
02:10 PM Emil: :D
02:39 PM polprog: Emil: i can wait to do it but i have a shitton of work
04:06 PM arij_work is now known as arij
05:08 PM Tom_itx is now known as Tom_L
