[02:21:56] <megal0maniac> antto: Fedora Server 22
[02:22:55] <Casper> redhat has lost so much market... since their failure of fedora... I'm surprised they still exists...
[03:09:52] <Xark> Hmm...http://charting.nasdaq.com/ext/charts.dll?2-1-14-0-0-5120-03NA000000RHT-&SF:1|5-BG=FFFFFF-BT=0-WD=635-HT=395-
[03:51:12] <day> Casper: who took the shares? ubuntu?
[08:59:51] <LeoNerd> 2. Make sure that the ambient temperature during testing between 18°C and 18°C. It would be perfect if calibrate between 23°C and ±2°C.
[08:59:53] <LeoNerd> Ahhh.. Rigol
[11:07:15] <antto> megal0maniac i tried today on kubuntu but "./ct-ng build" fails after 25 minutes because of gdb-something ...
[11:34:10] <Jartza> yay
[11:34:19] <Jartza> OctaPentaVeega V2 PCB has been shipped
[11:34:22] <Jartza> can't wait
[11:37:47] <Jartza> I hope it's as pretty as the 3D rendering :)
[11:37:53] <Jartza> or even prettier

[17:33:27] <rue_shop4> ok, so, 16Mhz, I set a 16bit counter to overflow at 16000 counts, and then use the interrupt to count the ms, at 1000 counts, seconds go up, minutes and hours go from there
[17:56:16] * apo__ would use an 8-bit timer with a prescaler of 64 and count to 250, but that's just me =P
[18:11:57] * Lambda_Aurigae would use an RTC chip or 32KHz crystal, but,,,
[18:13:47] <Casper> or you can use a 8 bits at /something with a 125 count and 125 times
[18:15:36] <Lambda_Aurigae> most atmega chips have a timer that can run from an external 32KHz crystal just specifically for doing RTC functionality.
[18:15:48] <Lambda_Aurigae> maybe all,,,not sure.
[18:17:34] <apo__> or that :)
[18:17:47] <apo__> an RTC is definitely better if you want to accurately measure time
[18:17:53] <Lambda_Aurigae> yup.
[18:18:08] <Lambda_Aurigae> I have several different models from maxim/dallas.
[18:18:23] <Lambda_Aurigae> sweet little toys that include alarms even.
[18:18:27] <apo__> I have a Grimbergen Dubbel
[18:18:50] <Lambda_Aurigae> I've used the alarms to trigger interrupts to wake up microcontrollers for things like opening and closing the chicken coop door.
[18:19:34] <Lambda_Aurigae> most of the ones I have are little 8pin thingies too...
[18:19:58] <apo__> I want to use an RTC in a project that pulls stuff from Somewhere™ to display on a repurposed kindle display
[18:20:21] <apo__> but I'm too lazy to dig into the control for those myself, so I'm waiting for something that explains it nicely =P
[18:30:30] <Lambda_Aurigae> is that an e-ink style display?
[18:43:59] <apo__> Lambda_Aurigae: yeah
[18:44:23] <apo__> Lambda_Aurigae: you need 4 different voltages to control them and it's a pain
[21:55:37] <TechIsCool> Anyone know what teh Blue barcode is used for on avnet express packaging?
[21:55:44] <TechIsCool> Example AOQ05829
[23:35:46] <Casper> techisCool: hard to know without seeing it, but chance is that it could be a date code or a serial number or something like that
