12:00 AM XXCoder: +shit? ;) kidding
04:02 AM Stormholt: Testing
04:03 AM XXCoder: *error message not found*
04:03 AM XXCoder: heh hey
04:05 AM Stormholt: Excellent!
04:06 AM Stormholt: How does this work, are there still topics ?
04:06 AM XXCoder: irc?
04:06 AM XXCoder: type /topic
04:07 AM XXCoder: generally we talk about machining, cnc machines, manual machines, and linuxcnc here
04:07 AM XXCoder: sometimes topics get off topic though should suspend if theres discusssion more to topic
04:08 AM XXCoder: theres lot more channels than this one, libera.chat focuses on open source projects in most case
04:08 AM Stormholt: Understood, and general help and issues are reserved for the actual forum?
04:08 AM XXCoder: you can ask for help here yeah
04:08 AM XXCoder: but forums tend to have more experts
04:09 AM Stormholt: cool, thank you
04:09 AM XXCoder: welcome
04:10 AM XXCoder: note this isnt offical irc channel for linuxcnc
04:10 AM XXCoder: one at freenode is. last channel im in that havent moved over
04:19 AM sensille: not yet?
04:23 AM Tom_L: roughly have have jumped ship so far
04:23 AM Tom_L: half
04:23 AM sensille: so there's no active decision against the move
04:23 AM Tom_L: sounds like a good irc channel splitup to me
04:24 AM Tom_L: i didn't vote
04:24 AM Tom_L: but yes somebody made a decision
04:25 AM Tom_L: right or wrong
04:25 AM XXCoder: who?
04:32 AM XXCoder: offical linuxcnc people?
04:45 AM XXCoder: sensille: https://forum.linuxcnc.org/29-forum-announcements/42731-linuxcnc-irc-real-time-chat-is-moving-to-libera-chat#211004
04:45 AM XXCoder: so it seems offical now
04:54 AM sensille: great
04:55 AM XXCoder: yeah
04:55 AM XXCoder: i look forward to losing my op lol
05:22 AM JT-Cave: morning
05:22 AM XXCoder: yo
05:27 AM JT-Cave: I think all you have to do is log out and log back in
05:29 AM XXCoder: man visited forum. been a while since i last did that
05:29 AM XXCoder: 2016?
06:43 AM Vq: XXCoder: Do you know how to sign over a channel here on libera?
06:43 AM XXCoder: what you mean sign over?
06:44 AM Vq: Updating ChanServ Founder
06:45 AM XXCoder: oh i already gave founder to jepler
06:45 AM Vq: I wasn't able to see that option in the ChanServ help text.
06:46 AM XXCoder: its something like /msg chatserv set (channel) (nick) +F
06:47 AM Vq: Ah, it's some flag thingie.
06:47 AM XXCoder: yeah
06:47 AM Vq: Thanks for the hint.
06:47 AM XXCoder: no problem, you trying to move over another channel or what
06:48 AM Vq: There are a couple I registered hastily during the first announcement. Now I'm trying to avoid responsibility. :o)
06:49 AM XXCoder: ahh i registered few channels i regular in
06:49 AM XXCoder: including this one
06:49 AM XXCoder: im founder of zero channels now
06:49 AM XXCoder: note f and F have meanings
06:49 AM XXCoder: big F is first founder, small f is second
06:50 AM XXCoder: a backup founder basically
09:06 AM JT-Shop: lol please provide a full refund if the package ever arrives I'll refuse delivery
09:06 AM JT-Shop: if I get the package back I'll refund the cost of the items only
09:08 AM robotustra: JT-Shop, where do you find such greedy customers?
09:17 AM JT-Cave: they find me somehow
09:17 AM XXCoder: had few stupid greedy people when i used to sell lego parts
09:21 AM JT-Cave: I wish I knew why the USPS has not shipped a single package outside the US since the first week of April
09:21 AM XXCoder: thats been 2 months what the heck
09:22 AM robotustra: because airplanes do not fly to europe?
09:23 AM XXCoder: boy glad i dont still sell lego stuff. that'd be nightmare to deal with
09:23 AM XXCoder: most of my customers was outside usa
09:23 AM JT-Cave: all my packages were going down under to au and nz
09:24 AM robotustra: XXCoder, and probably most of your customers are kids :)
09:24 AM XXCoder: robotustra: uh no
09:24 AM robotustra: or their parents
09:24 AM * JT-Cave stops wondering and wanders off to work
09:24 AM XXCoder: sometimes. but not always
09:25 AM Roguish: good morning all.
09:26 AM XXCoder: robot btw if i figure that customer was kid, i report it to site.
09:26 AM Roguish: jepler, THANKS for handling the IRC move..................
09:28 AM robotustra: is the zero position of the end mill is a property of mill or a property of cnc machine?
09:34 AM aaroncnc: is it normal when using a wireless keyboard to get missing keystrokes?
09:35 AM XXCoder: thats low power if youre been using it for while
09:35 AM XXCoder: i guess its new since youre asking
09:35 AM jepler[m]: Roguish: it was a group effort but you're welcome
09:35 AM aaroncnc: yea, my linux cnc machine is missing some of my inputs but when i put it on my windows machine its all fine.
09:36 AM XXCoder: aaroncnc: btw I would probably never use wireless keyboard and mouse on cnc.
09:36 AM XXCoder: hmm i wonder if emf from cnc machine can inference with keyboard and mouse wireless
09:37 AM aaroncnc: i have gone back to my wired setup but it would have been nice to have less wire clutter.
09:37 AM XXCoder: yeah if you dont have ohysical buttons for estop, etc, i would avoid wireless keyboard due to ponentally losing contact at bad time
09:37 AM XXCoder: otherwise eh
09:42 AM Stormholt: Hello, i was wondering if anyone have a driver for linuxcnc-ethercat for one of these devices: EL3202, EL3314, EL3004, EL2014? i have written drivers for them myself put they dont work when used with other devices. I would like to compare a working driver to find the error
09:51 AM TurBoss: HEllo
09:52 AM Roguish_shop: TurBoss, hey, you made it....
09:53 AM TurBoss: not yet
09:53 AM TurBoss: :D
09:53 AM TurBoss: this is irc client
09:53 AM Roguish_shop: hey. you got heree
09:53 AM TurBoss: yes :D
10:54 AM aaroncnc: hmm just half fried a rpi4. maybe i should not power it via the skr1.4 board directly into the 5v gpio on the pi....
11:05 AM aaroncnc: seems i might have got lucky, just fried the protection diode. it has been removed and its booting again.
11:24 AM snakedGT is now known as snaked
11:25 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +o by ChanServ
12:03 PM srk: aaroncnc: IIRC it's actually supported. is skr1.4 5V really 5V?
12:07 PM aaroncnc: @srk, it might be supported but there is a risk with a device that has very little esd protection and built to a low cost.
12:10 PM srk: yep
12:10 PM _methods: oh wow this one is alive today
01:13 PM aaroncnc: yea i am stil not sure what channel is going to be the most used here, so for now i am using both
04:21 PM _unreal_: so I'm printing a MINI two stage dust seperator LOL I love it
04:21 PM _unreal_: going to take a few days to build but what ever
08:10 PM XXCoder: hey CaptHindsight
08:50 PM CaptHindsight: waiting for the BIG bridge
09:37 PM XXCoder: so far i know, linuxcnc dont have bridge?
09:37 PM XXCoder: its freecad that does
10:30 PM unterhaus: finally got the sheet metal for my stmbl drives and realized it could be bent inside out
10:30 PM unterhaus: no, I didn't do it. Yet.
10:33 PM _unreal_: UET
10:33 PM _unreal_: YET
11:08 PM XXCoder: hey unterhaus! how goes things
