01:51 PM roycroft: this was a time-sensitive issue, so i rang up the vendor to get things sorted
01:52 PM roycroft: i was informed that they had recently changed their password policy, making it more strict so that passwords would be more secure, and that my password did not fit the new criteria because it was too long
