01:33 AM lcnc-relay: <nkrid3r@> Good morning guys, sorry, but I went to sleep last night.
01:51 AM lcnc-relay: Yes, itโ€™s not a Mesa board. I donโ€™t want to spend money on it, and I havenโ€™t sent you a picture, but in my opinion, itโ€™s not worth spending on.
01:51 AM lcnc-relay: I rewired everything from the Bob to the drivers, making a schematic of how they are connected.
01:51 AM lcnc-relay: For example, the VFD was given to me brand new, so I have no idea how to make it work.
01:51 AM lcnc-relay: ... long message truncated: https://jauriarts.org/_heisenbridge/media/jauriarts.org/SZZUbDWXzCdyjNaExsfoJYFm/opTOR6m21ek (10 lines)
01:51 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> moin
02:02 AM Deejay: moin
03:43 AM lcnc-relay: <z3rni3@> Moin
04:21 AM Tom_L: morning
04:24 AM Tom_L: nkrid3r, http://linuxcnc.org/docs/stable/html/config/ini-config.html#sub:ini:sec:emcmot
04:25 AM Tom_L: base_period, servo_period
05:08 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
05:54 AM lcnc-relay: <nkrid3r@> Tom_L: Thanks
07:14 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> https://ibb.co/B5xDVWt8
07:14 AM lcnc-relay: do you have any idea why i'm stuck to line 11 of my gcode?
07:15 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> no error message, nothing move when i try to execute next line
07:15 AM lcnc-relay: <z3rni3@> Are you driving relative or absolute?
07:17 AM lcnc-relay: <z3rni3@> My (very newbie) quess would be that you're driving in absolute Koordinates and try to go outside your Workarea
07:17 AM Tom_L: it tells you if you look
07:17 AM Tom_L: active gcodes
07:18 AM Tom_L: G90 is active
07:19 AM Tom_L: is it a horizontal mill?
07:19 AM Tom_L: so is G18
07:19 AM lcnc-relay: <z3rni3@> Oh... Yeah!
07:19 AM lcnc-relay: But it also seams, that he's allowed to drive in negative X. So don't mind me๐Ÿ˜…
07:21 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> its a lathe
07:21 AM Tom_L: might be a lateh
07:21 AM Tom_L: lathe
07:21 AM Tom_L: :)
07:21 AM Tom_L: looking at the plotter
07:21 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> sorry i'm very beginner in CNC stuff
07:22 AM Tom_L: absolute mode (G90) might put it out of bounds
07:22 AM Tom_L: dunno
07:23 AM Tom_L: G90 says 'go to this point' G91 says 'move this far from where you are'
07:24 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> my bad
07:24 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> it was moving
07:24 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> but so slow i coulnt even see it
07:24 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> i need to study speed and feeds for lathe
07:25 AM Tom_L: there are modes for that too
07:28 AM lcnc-relay: <zincboy_ca_on@> You have G94 on which is units/min feed rate. I assume your machine is in metric and your G1 feed is 0.2mm/min which is really slow. I think you wanted G95 instead which is units/revolution and would be much faster.
07:30 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> indeed, that makes totally sense
07:30 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> i start to see the light a the end of the tunnel ๐Ÿ™‚
07:33 AM lcnc-relay: <z3rni3@> Is there someone who might be able to help me. I really can't anymore. ๐Ÿ™ƒ
07:36 AM lcnc-relay: <die_limonade@> it is helpful to state where you need help. https://dontasktoask.com
07:46 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> Finally, first chips are done ๐Ÿ™‚
08:07 AM JT-Cave: https://pasteboard.co/SE1MPwdXOYmn.png
08:08 AM JT-Cave: https://pasteboard.co/LjURdBtrB7Sy.png
08:25 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> You got it!
08:29 AM JT-Cave: almost
08:49 AM lcnc-relay: <z3rni3@> Didn't have the TB3 IN COMMON connected to ground...
08:49 AM lcnc-relay: Would someone care to explain, why I had to do that, please. ๐Ÿ˜
08:49 AM lcnc-relay: <z3rni3@> * GND...
08:55 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> you have to do it to make it work ;P
08:56 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> no idea what you are doing. but to close a circuit you need plus and minus
08:57 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> signal pin is plus, common pin gnd for all signals
09:07 AM lcnc-relay: <z3rni3@> meisterdippel@: No shit Sherlock! ๐Ÿ˜‚
09:07 AM lcnc-relay: <z3rni3@> meisterdippel@: Allright. That answer seems easy enough!
09:11 AM Deejay: plus is common and red is black
09:13 AM Deejay: (in german that sounds more funny)
09:33 AM BorgPipe: coffee cannon

03:12 PM JT-Shop: noisy fan fixed
04:24 PM rifraf: anyone using onshape?
04:32 PM Tom_L: not me
04:32 PM JT-Shop: don't even know what that is
04:33 PM Tom_L: https://www.onshape.com/en/
04:34 PM Tom_L: little too cloudy for me
04:35 PM rifraf: no worries
04:37 PM JT-Shop: hmm I should cut the targets out on the plasma...
04:37 PM JT-Shop: yup too cloudy for me too
05:57 PM xxcoder1: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/763328871906017280/1354225281698627595/djxkhwwu2bf3jzi7yxqr4k9vtvfb.png?ex=67e48413&is=67e33293&hm=0387a4204479a9dc8f75934223b738d867a2b72f0a729ac92461b71708ccdfec&=&format=webp&quality=lossless&width=873&height=524
05:57 PM xxcoder1: fun. 67f today, "heavy rain" tomorrow
05:58 PM xxcoder1: its trmnl display graphic btw, its what is currently being shown on screen lol
05:58 PM JT-Shop: storms here this weekend
05:58 PM Tom_L: we could use some rain but haven't checked to see if we get any
05:58 PM xxcoder1: took advange of today to empty tanks and fill water
05:58 PM xxcoder1: soil was very very soggy till from yeserday
05:59 PM xxcoder1: fell over when I tried not to step on poop. "shouted" at my nephew
07:22 PM flyback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcmpGbR6xZc <-- PPS OWN YOUR "CANUCK":
07:26 PM rdtsc is now known as rdtsc_
07:27 PM rdtsc_: Random fact of the day: drinking coffee brewed through a metal/plastic mesh filter, subjects you to increased levels of "bad" cholesterol. Filter paper is fine enough to retain it from the beans - mesh is not.
07:28 PM rdtsc_ is now known as rdtsc
07:33 PM rdtsc: https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/whats-the-healthiest-way-to-brew-coffee
08:05 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> well - I finally got a incoming ssh connection over starlink.. Using IPv6
08:06 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> Required a different router that actually had the ability to open ports in the firewall
08:07 PM xxcoder1: retail hardware suck
08:07 PM xxcoder1: openwrt?
08:07 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> no - I haven't the hardware yet. I need to order a couple of ones I have converted.
08:08 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> that is plan C depending on how this works.
08:08 PM xxcoder1: cool :) theres some nice hardware
08:09 PM xxcoder1: https://openwrt.org/toh/openwrt/one
08:09 PM xxcoder1: its apparently cannot be bricked and its all open source
08:09 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> I had the 'priority plan - kinda very low business plan for an extra 10 a month. The thing it gave you was a publicly facing IP address. (not technically static - it could change)
08:10 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> they are phasing that plan out - and to get what I had would be around 400+ a month.
08:10 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> no thank you.
08:10 PM xxcoder1: ouch
08:11 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> so went back to residential. So now I get to learn about ipv6.. so there is that. (you get publicly routed ipv6 address - like a bajillion of them) lol
08:11 PM xxcoder1: ip every leaf of plant yo own
08:12 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> that is what threw me off. thinking ip4 days - I was trying to ssh into the router ip address... then it dawned on me that my computer also had a publicly routed ipv6 address...
08:13 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> kinda a duh moment
08:13 PM xxcoder1: :)
08:13 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> Hell - I remember trying to teach my self IP stuff in a novell server. This is nothing.
08:14 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> (2 systems that really didn't go together at the time)
08:14 PM xxcoder1: man I remember old days of installing services in windows so can use tcp/ip etc
08:15 PM xxcoder1: theres been so many changes lol
08:15 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> yah - I remember this being a patch to make ip traphic work through a novell server.. But that was a long time ago.
08:17 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> it is crazy how much easier things have gotten.. Even on the linux side. Granted - some of that is experience.. but part of it is things improving.
08:17 PM xxcoder1: I rememebr trying to get gpu work right in linux lol
08:18 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> lol.. Linuxcnc is what got me into linux. This is right at the transition from emc1 to 2..
08:19 PM xxcoder1: started daily drive linux for second time in 2013
08:19 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> I used the 'bdi' install and then found the irc - I think.. and cradek or jepler helped me compile emc2 on the bdi installation..
08:19 PM xxcoder1: first run was hmm 2007? to 2010? been years so don really remember
08:20 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> I think it was around the time of ubuntu 4.01?
08:20 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> Or 6
08:20 PM xxcoder1: was it brown or purple?
08:20 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> whatever the first linuxcnc livecd was based on
08:20 PM xxcoder1: brown then
08:21 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> trying to get the wireless to work.. lol
08:21 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> what a pain in the ass
08:21 PM xxcoder1: wifi still kinda suck. had to compile driver for my cheapass wifi dongle. its serving as hotspot now
08:22 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> yah... But now I now what dongles to buy that work..
08:22 PM xxcoder1: yeah
08:25 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> for sure the last few laptops I have installed linux on - all the wifi hardware worked.
09:17 PM flyback: skunkworks
09:17 PM flyback: probaly knoppix
09:17 PM flyback: first major livecd
09:29 PM xxcoder1: that was first livecd, but hes talking about first ubuntu
09:29 PM xxcoder1: which is likely to be 4.x something
09:30 PM xxcoder1: oh first *linuxcnc* livecd
09:30 PM xxcoder1: dunno on that
09:37 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> 6.06.
09:37 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> https://www.cnczone.com/forums/linuxcnc-formerly-emc2-/24810-new-live-ubuntu-6-06-emc2.html
09:37 PM xxcoder1: 6.0.6 definitely purple
09:38 PM xxcoder1: https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/every-ubuntu-default-wallpaper
09:39 PM xxcoder1: I was wrong, it looks like lol brown for few more major bersions
09:39 PM xxcoder1: 10 is first purple
11:43 PM xxcoder1: well we're in hell of a storm here tomorrow
11:43 PM xxcoder1: heavy winds, storms, big hail
