03:45 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram> Hello,
03:45 AM lcnc-relay: Do you have any idea of what 8
03:45 AM lcnc-relay: Is a direct drive pump?
03:45 AM lcnc-relay: I have this on my industrial lathe, I also have a spindle motor, coolant pump and lubricant pump, I'm wondering what is the use...
04:04 AM JT-Cave: morning
04:39 AM Tom_L: morning
04:48 AM JT-Cave: rdtsc_away, the clear button clears the live plot
04:48 AM Tom_L: views magically work now
04:57 AM _unreal_: do believe in magic?????
04:57 AM _unreal_: and I hope you do......
05:00 AM JT-Cave: yeah thanks to MennilTossFlykune on the forum
05:19 AM Deejay: moin
06:16 AM * JT-Cave goes for a ride and thinks about adding some Zero (axis) buttons...
06:28 AM JT-Shop: now we need some solid example configs
07:39 AM Tom_L: zero axis buttons? to zero them or send them to zero?
07:40 AM Tom_L: i've run test parts on both my mill ones
07:42 AM Tom_L: did a tool setup etc
07:46 AM Tom_L: do a mill setup with a 7i96s
07:46 AM Tom_L: that would be popular
07:53 AM Tom_L: if you load a different gcode file i wonder if you should auto clear the plot.
07:53 AM Tom_L: axis does
07:55 AM Tom_L: i guess flex does too
07:58 AM Tom_L: after you've run the file and load a new one neither update the plot
07:59 AM Tom_L: 'clear' fixes that
08:03 AM Tom_L: found a 'gotcha'
08:03 AM Tom_L: when a program is running, 'Open', 'Reload' are greyed out. 'Recent' should be too
08:04 AM Tom_L: cause i can load a file that way with it running
08:09 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> that sounds exciting
08:25 AM Tom_L: maybe 'Edit' should be too. it is in axis
08:25 AM Tom_L: that's a coin toss. you can edit but if 'Reload' is greyed out you can't load it anyway
08:28 AM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/lets_cut_some_chips.png
08:30 AM Tom_L: skunkworks, that pole won't sway too much in the wind for reception?
08:32 AM Tom_L: i know it wouldn't fly here... we get wind that bends over interstate signs with the I beam legs
09:05 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> we don't get that much wind..
09:05 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> and time will tell
09:06 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> the current pole witch I think is just chain link fence top support is working great.
09:07 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> and I can alway tip it over and tweek things if needed.
09:07 AM Tom_L: looked like well pipe to me
09:07 AM Tom_L: 1.5"?
09:07 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> it is 1.5 inch water pipe
09:08 AM roycroft: i should work on my tv antenna again
09:08 AM roycroft: it would be nice to get a station or two
09:08 AM roycroft: although it's been nice having no tv at all
09:09 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> what I am puttin at the top of the tower is 1.5 inch water pipe. what I have stuck in the ground temporarily for testing the tuner is chain link fence pipe.
09:10 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> (it is similar to emt)
09:10 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> and maybe 1.25ish
09:10 AM Tom_L: i have some.. i know
10:10 AM Tom_L: JT-Shop, i think the DRO disable may not be necessary really
10:10 AM JT-Cave: ok
10:10 AM * JT-Cave goes to work
10:10 AM Tom_L: they can be checked and ready to go when you enable DRO
10:12 AM Tom_L: same with edit
10:12 AM Tom_L: you can't reload it anyway
10:39 AM JT-Shop: Tom_L, did you test recent files?
11:49 AM Tom_L: it was greyed out
11:57 AM Tom_L: axis has a 'Clear Recents' menu item if you want to add one
11:57 AM Tom_L: it shows up on the submenu under the items
11:58 AM Tom_L: you have one for mdi history..
11:59 AM Tom_L: doubt you need a button for that unless it would be for touch
12:08 PM JT-Cave: looks like axis has a 10 file limit for recent files
12:08 PM JT-Cave: touch does not have recent files...
12:08 PM Tom_L: i was just now getting to that :)
12:09 PM Tom_L: you have 5
12:09 PM Tom_L: i added some extra to the file to test
12:09 PM Tom_L: and when it saved, they went away
12:10 PM Tom_L: touch doesn't have them on the menu?
12:10 PM Tom_L: i didn't check..
12:10 PM JT-Cave: touch doesn't have a menu
12:10 PM JT-Cave: it's touch only
12:11 PM Tom_L: ok i was thinking xyzh
12:13 PM Tom_L: this would be hard but would be a space saver. axis uses a single set of arrows for both pan and zoom with a selector
12:14 PM Tom_L: 'toggle between drag & rotate mode'
12:15 PM Tom_L: err, pan & rotate not zoom
12:16 PM JT-Cave: nap time
12:16 PM Tom_L: finishin up lunch
01:50 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> you guys are rock stars
02:26 PM Tom_L: not enough hair left for that
02:27 PM Connor: Hey guys, question about M0/M1. Is it a common practice to set those up so that it pauses the coolant/air and spindle and resume after the system is started back up?
02:34 PM * djdelorie would not like the spindle to come to life just because I powered the machine up...
02:45 PM Tom_L: Connor, i do that in my post for fixture changes etc
02:46 PM Tom_L: if that's what you had in mind
02:46 PM Tom_L: and for that at least, yes it's common
02:58 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
02:58 PM Tom_dev: N25 M05
02:58 PM Tom_dev: N26 G53 G00 Z0
02:58 PM Tom_dev: N27 M00 (SLIDE PART LEFT AND ADD PIN AND SCREW NOW)
02:58 PM Tom_dev: N28 M03
02:58 PM Tom_L: for example
02:59 PM Tom_L: all i do is add the text for the operator
02:59 PM Tom_L: i don't have auto coolant in this case
03:01 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/rue/Can_Holder/A8_new/A8%20profile1.jpg
03:01 PM Tom_L: notice i predrill for the next part so i can just slide the plate and pin it
03:05 PM roycroft: it must be nice being able to be a government hater/blamer
03:06 PM Tom_L: that was random
03:06 PM roycroft: i was watching a youtube video a while ago and the guy got into a rant about electrical wiring at one point
03:06 PM roycroft: he said, essentially "i asked the building inspector what i needed to do, and he told me, but i did something different"
03:06 PM roycroft: "then i failed the inspection. DAMN YOU, GOVERNMENT!"
03:07 PM roycroft: i just dealt with something similar from my boss, the details of which i won't get into
03:07 PM Tom_L: when i redid the hvac when i put my basement in, the hvac inspector asked me if what i did was ok
03:08 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> lol
03:08 PM Tom_L: true story...
03:08 PM roycroft: but it seems that a lot of government haters don't want to take any personal responsiblity for anything
03:08 PM roycroft: so whenever something goes wrong they blame the government
03:08 PM xxcoder: tom was guy being sarastic?
03:08 PM Tom_L: no
03:08 PM Tom_L: the inspector showed up in a dress and heels
03:08 PM Tom_L: not a drag queen either
03:09 PM xxcoder: ok dont know what gender made a difference, just expert or not expert
03:09 PM roycroft: who said anything about gender?
03:09 PM roycroft: the inpsector could have been a poofter
03:09 PM Tom_L: we'll just call it non expert then
03:10 PM xxcoder: why is she working as inspector if dont know?
03:10 PM Tom_L: why ask why?
03:10 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> because the government should not telling me how to wire my house!! I still like the youtube short where the electrician is looking at some dumpster fire of an electrical box and the old lady is saying - my nephew did all the work - he is very handy.. When did his house burn down? 2 years ago - wait - how did you know his house burned down?
03:10 PM roycroft: builiding inspectors are usually failed contractors :)
03:11 PM xxcoder: skunk lol yeah I remember that one
03:11 PM Tom_L: as are teachers
03:11 PM Unterhaus_ is now known as Unterhausen
03:11 PM Tom_L: can't make it in the field so they teach
03:11 PM roycroft: although some have a real passion for teaching
03:11 PM roycroft: perhaps some have a really passion for building inspecting
03:12 PM roycroft: but i find it hard to imagine being passionate about that
03:12 PM Tom_L: one of them did
03:12 PM Tom_L: he wasn't about to leave until he found something
03:12 PM Unterhausen: I wonder how people end up as inspectors
03:12 PM roycroft: different srokes for different folks, though
03:12 PM Unterhausen: first one I met was a real piece of work
03:12 PM Unterhausen: he just wanted his $10
03:13 PM roycroft: $10? what was he inpsecting? a silverware drawer?
03:13 PM Unterhausen: little town in Wisconsin in the '70s
03:13 PM roycroft: inspections here start in the hundreds and go up
03:13 PM Tom_L: i was gonna say that had to be back when a cup of coffee was a dime
03:14 PM Unterhausen: I think $10 then is only $30 now
03:14 PM roycroft: aqi is down to 315
03:14 PM roycroft: it was 460 a few minutes ago
03:15 PM Tom_L: i picture roycroft in a cleanroom suit
03:15 PM Tom_L: hazmat
03:15 PM Unterhausen: I would have to be wearing a mask
03:15 PM Tom_L: i notice it here if it gets much above 35-40
03:16 PM roycroft: i'm just staying indoors as much as possible
03:16 PM roycroft: the ac filters out the smoke really well
03:16 PM Tom_L: we have wind on our side
03:16 PM roycroft: simone biles just won another gold
03:16 PM Tom_L: cool
03:17 PM Unterhausen: I haven't thought about it for a while, we're up to 70, which is fairly normal for us in the summer
03:17 PM Unterhausen: maybe I should finish my filter box.
03:21 PM Tom_L: JT-Cave, plot clear on file load works
03:22 PM JT-Cave: cool
03:22 PM Tom_L: reload doesn't
03:22 PM Tom_L: but axis doesn't either
03:24 PM Tom_L: it would be handy if it did.. make an edit and reload with a clean slate
03:29 PM JT-Shop: that should be easy to do
03:29 PM Tom_L: yeah
03:34 PM Unterhaus_ is now known as Unterhausen
03:42 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> Tom_L: hey, where's your .deb ??
03:45 PM Connor: Tom_L: I was going to just REMAP M0/M1 to include that.. I've setup a way to display a dialog in qtpyvcp / probe_basic on M0/M1 that tells the user Program is Paused. and gives them a Feed Resume button and Stop button.
03:45 PM Connor: I figured it probably a good idea to stop the spindle/dust/air etc..
03:45 PM Connor: This is for a Maker Space, so, I can't always control the post processor.
03:47 PM rdtsc-wk: roguish - the flexgui debs? try https://github.com/jethornton/flexgui/releases
03:49 PM Tom_L: roguish, these are pretty close to the latest: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/
03:49 PM Tom_L: likely the same as jt's
03:50 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> i just installed JT's latest deb. i think from just a few hours ago. how about your UI ????
03:50 PM Tom_L: it's in the examples
03:51 PM Tom_L: rpi_mill_3 or mill_3
03:51 PM Tom_L: it might be lagging some since we've been changing the plot some
03:51 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> where do they get installed with the deb ??
03:52 PM Tom_L: examples
03:52 PM Tom_L: flexgui/examples
03:53 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> where are they?
03:53 PM Tom_L: should be in /home/user/flexgui/examples
03:54 PM Tom_L: i always pull mine from git so i'm not positive :)
03:54 PM JT-Shop: if you click on the menu to copy them they are in the linuxcnc/configs directory
03:55 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Shop: i installed your deb with gdebi.
03:55 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/
03:56 PM JT-Shop: cool
03:56 PM Tom_L: for the most up to date .ui on mill_3
03:56 PM Tom_L: just posted the .ui files there
03:56 PM JT-Shop: did you do a pr on them?
03:56 PM Tom_L: no i'm waiting til we're semi done
03:57 PM JT-Shop: ok
03:57 PM Tom_L: i can if you want them
03:57 PM Tom_L: are you gonna attempt combining the arrow buttons for pan & rotate or leave it as is?
03:58 PM JT-Shop: leave it for now
03:58 PM Tom_L: the reload won't affect that so i'll push these
03:58 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> ok, got the mill_3.ui. moved it to the config directory, changed the .ini and it came up !!!
03:58 PM Tom_L: imagine that
04:00 PM rdtsc-wk: note I had to clear my flex_examples folder and re-copy them
04:00 PM Tom_L: best to do that anyway
04:02 PM JT-Shop: if use the menu it over writes the files but does it leave other files?
04:03 PM Tom_L: i dunno, i've maybe used it once
04:03 PM Tom_L: i just hand pick the ones i want and move em
04:04 PM Tom_L: my ui must be up to date on git. i copied them from configs to examples and git gui shows nothing changed
04:05 PM Tom_L: i think all the recent changes have just been code
04:07 PM Tom_L: yeah they're the same. i just ran them in a terminal
04:09 PM rdtsc-wk: @JT-Shop it does leave others. Was seeing bits and pieces from dev changes over the days prior. Prolly wouldn't have hurt anything, but confusing at the least.
04:10 PM rdtsc-wk: anyways, just clear it out and run the menu command again, easy-peasy
04:11 PM Tom_L: so we need to have an irc contest to see who can come up with the coolest gui using flex
04:11 PM Tom_L: the winner is we all benefit
04:18 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> found /usr/lib/libflexgui
04:21 PM rdtsc-wk: look in the LCNC application menu, there should be a Copy FlexGUI Examples
04:22 PM JT-Cave: and it needs to be named just like that...
04:23 PM Tom_L: mine says Flex Copy Examples :)
04:24 PM * rdtsc-wk is away from the Rpi and is known to have shoddy memory and occasional old-farted-ness
04:25 PM * rdtsc-wk does try to have a laugh or two about it though. :)
04:26 PM JT-Cave: it won't for very long
04:26 PM Tom_L: :)
04:27 PM Tom_L: that clears on reload now too right?
04:28 PM Tom_L: it barely pays to build a deb here. by the time it's done compiling there's a new update
04:28 PM Tom_L: damn....
04:29 PM rdtsc-wk: I'll get right on the AutoDEB system
04:30 PM Tom_L: yup, clear on reload works now
04:30 PM Tom_L: as does the menu change
04:30 PM JT-Shop: LOL I'm fast as fast can be...
04:31 PM Tom_L: and i though i'd cut the rpi deb build time down....
04:33 PM JT-Shop: practice makes perfect :)
04:42 PM Tom_L: #56 have a new deb for today
04:42 PM JT-Shop: thanks
04:49 PM JT-Shop: should I offer to delete everything in the examples directory if it exists?
04:49 PM Tom_L: maybe with a warning
04:49 PM Tom_L: or zip a backup like you did before
04:50 PM Tom_L: in jet??
04:50 PM Tom_L: i forget
04:50 PM JT-Shop: mesact does a zip
04:50 PM Tom_L: ahh ok
04:50 PM Tom_L: for those that don't know what backups are
04:52 PM Tom_L: how do you move a tab in the designer?
04:54 PM JT-Shop: in a tab widget?
04:54 PM Tom_L: yeah, rearrange the tab order
04:55 PM JT-Shop: not sure you can...
04:55 PM Tom_L: i made a new one and copied it all to it then removed the other one
04:55 PM Tom_L: but there must be a way
04:55 PM JT-Shop: you can insert and remove a tab
04:55 PM Tom_L: right
04:56 PM Tom_L: but i can't find the 'move' button :)
04:56 PM JT-Shop: left click and hold then drag
04:56 PM Tom_L: cool
04:56 PM Tom_L: thanks
04:57 PM Tom_L: it had to be too easy...
05:06 PM JT-Shop: I actually learned something as I've never tried to move a tab
05:12 PM Tom_L: i just figured it would be on a menu
05:12 PM JT-Shop: that's what I assumed as well
05:13 PM JT-Shop: being a super sleuth I fingered it out
05:13 PM Tom_L: instead of changing mill_3 i'm thinking about making another one so i can get the plot & gcode on the same tab
05:13 PM Tom_L: maybe mill_3a or _4
05:14 PM JT-Shop: cool, the more examples the better
05:14 PM Tom_L: i like having them together
05:14 PM Tom_L: but the whole point is for the user to make what _they_ want !
05:14 PM JT-Shop: so do we need a probe advanced?
05:14 PM Tom_L: i don't have a probe to test with
05:15 PM JT-Shop: exactly, but showing them what they can do is important I think
05:15 PM Tom_L: i was looking for a probe sim earlier
05:15 PM JT-Shop: I have a probe but it's not very accurate
05:15 PM Tom_L: i'd include chris's examples
05:15 PM Tom_L: been a while since i tried them
05:15 PM JT-Shop: for sure chris made some good probe routines
05:16 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> any recommendations for a daughter card to pair with 7i96s to give me an additional isolated 0-10v analog output to drive a second spindle? 5i25?
05:16 PM Tom_L: the single analog board if it's available
05:16 PM Tom_L: spinx ?
05:16 PM Tom_L: what's it called?
05:17 PM JT-Shop: https://mesaus.com/product/spinx1/
05:17 PM Tom_L: i don't think pcw has any either
05:18 PM JT-Shop: I just ordered a bunch of boards from Peter but didn't see that I"m out of them
05:19 PM Tom_L: http://store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=393&search=spinx1
05:19 PM Tom_L: probably the new variant due to chip shortage
05:19 PM Tom_L: http://store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=205&search=spinx1
05:20 PM Tom_L: points to the new one
05:21 PM JT-Shop: hmm I do have some
05:21 PM Tom_L: the new one?
05:21 PM Tom_L: i doubt it matters on that board
05:22 PM JT-Shop: yup
05:22 PM Tom_L: fffffffff there's yer answer
05:22 PM JT-Shop: https://mesaus.com/product/spinx1a/
05:23 PM Tom_L: you should point the old one to the new one like he did
05:30 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Shop: hey. Peter gave me an older 7i80. when I run mesact and find board, it says 7i92......what gives
05:32 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> can that be set in the bit file?
05:32 PM Tom_L: he never wrote stuff for the 7i80 since it's older
05:33 PM Tom_L: you can set the basics up with the 7i92 then manual from there
05:33 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> when I use mesaflash directly, it finds the same
05:33 PM Tom_L: 7i80 is 7i80HD-16 or some such name
05:33 PM Tom_L: in mesaflash
05:34 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> yes, I know
05:34 PM Tom_L: ok
05:34 PM Tom_L: i dunno then
05:34 PM JT-Shop: odd, mesact uses mesaflash
05:34 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> if I use those, it does not find the board, if I use 7I92 it does find the board
05:34 PM JT-Shop: so what ever it reports back that's what I show
05:34 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Shop: can that be from the bit file?
05:35 PM JT-Shop: that's a question for Peter :)
05:35 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> ok
05:35 PM JT-Shop: Tom_L, I hid the spinx1 so it does not show up now
05:35 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> because of all that, it's taken me awhile to set up my test systemmmmm
05:38 PM JT-Shop: Tom_L, I need to delete some of the early test ui files from examples and delete the sims because the plot does not work with them
05:38 PM Tom_L: ok
05:38 PM Tom_L: i don't think i use or refer to them much now anyway
05:39 PM Tom_L: i'll keep what i have installed in config for reference but won't miss them
05:40 PM JT-Shop: it is faster to test with a sim running so I don't have to build and install for each test
05:43 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> wait what
05:43 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> i have the spine
05:43 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> spinx
05:44 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> but how would that work with 7i96s since it only has a single pWM integrated 0-10v
05:45 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> spinx1a* is what i have
05:55 PM Tom_L: JT-Shop, http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/mill_3_plot.png
05:55 PM Tom_L: still a work in progress
05:55 PM JT-Shop: looking good
05:55 PM Tom_L: not for touch though
05:56 PM Tom_L: i wouldn't need all the arrows since the mouse does all that
05:56 PM JT-Shop: yup mouse and keyboard don't need pan and move
05:56 PM JT-Shop: and rotate
05:56 PM Tom_L: i'll leave the plot options tab but ditch the plot tab
05:57 PM JT-Shop: for a keyboard and mouse the menu should be all you need for plot options
05:59 PM Tom_L: need a font size input
05:59 PM Tom_L: if you turn enough stuff off you get the same result as the dro tab in axis
06:00 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Shop: I like the button controls on the plot...... good for touchscreen
06:00 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/mill_3_plot_dro.png
06:01 PM JT-Shop: roguish thanks
06:01 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> where's homing?
06:02 PM Tom_L: which ui?
06:02 PM JT-Shop: https://gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/flexgui/controls.html
06:03 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> Tom_L: mill_3
06:03 PM Tom_L: manual tab on both of those
06:06 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> ok
06:06 PM Tom_L: JT-Shop, i'm gonna push this one with the plot to gcode tab
06:07 PM JT-Shop: ok
06:07 PM Tom_L: doesn't take long once you have all the stuff defined in designer
06:08 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Shop: i'll check with Peter tomorrow...
06:08 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> ok, time to shut down for the day........see ya'll tomorrow
06:11 PM roycroft: i got the temporary subpanel installed and one circuit wired up, but then the smoke got to me
06:11 PM * roycroft can spend about 20-30 minutes outside at a go right now
06:12 PM Tom_L: JT-Shop, PR #57
06:15 PM JT-Shop: ok thanks
06:21 PM * JT-Shop calls it a night
06:21 PM Tom_L: yup
06:41 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> so it seems like to use spinx1a with my mesa 7i96s i need to use a custom firmware with a second pwm generator?
06:51 PM Tom_L: possibly
06:53 PM rdtsc_away is now known as rdtsc
06:53 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> i’ve almost got a haas millturn post processor converted for linuxcnc
06:57 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> ohhh i can connect the mesa 7i85s i have to 7i96s and use its pwm to drive 0-10v via spinx
06:59 PM Tom_L: there you go
07:00 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> wait omg i didn’t realize that all of the bitfile firmware are found in mesanet website they literally have the 2nd PWM bitfile right here
07:00 PM Tom_L: uh huh
07:04 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> i have advanced quite far since i joined this discord
07:04 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> love linuxcnc
07:04 PM Tom_L: this is where the magic happens
07:31 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
07:39 PM pcw-home: The SPINX1A is an improved SPINX1 (basically its the same analog circuit as the 7I96S uses)
07:41 PM pcw-home: Not a chip issue, but improved performance (lower ICC, better linearity, higher VCC max)
07:49 PM pcw-home: also common parts with the 7I96S
09:00 PM roycroft: we have more than 1.2 million acres burned or burning in oregon, 4x the average amount for this time of year
09:00 PM rdtsc is now known as rdtsc_away
09:02 PM xxcoder: sucks
09:03 PM roycroft: i picked the wrong year to move closer to the fires
09:10 PM roycroft: i pulled out my laser enclosure today - it lives in my studio inside the house
09:10 PM roycroft: i want to get that finished up soon so that i can use the laser again
09:35 PM bjorkintosh: oh. for a brief moment I was thinking CD player.
09:46 PM xxcoder: wow latest primitive tech so fun
09:46 PM xxcoder: tool he makes is pretty dang amazing
10:03 PM roycroft: aqi is below 100 now
10:03 PM roycroft: but i don't feel like going back out to the shop
10:15 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> hey PCW - do you know which steppergen is replaced by PWM in the 2PWMD firmware for 7i96s? I thought i saw it somewhere but cant seem to find it
10:16 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> Nvm I found an old forum thread that says its #4
10:17 PM pcw-home: The .pin file shows the pinout
10:19 PM pcw-home: You can also use firmware with 5ABOB or G540 on P1 and connect the SPINX1A to P1
10:20 PM pcw-home: (and retain all 5 stepgens on the 7I96S terminal blocks)
10:32 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> dumb question but what is P1 in reference to? I see the pinout in the files but somewhat confused - is it referring to the pins where the expansion cable would plug into??
10:32 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> keeping all of the stepgens would be very beneficial for me so ideall would want to go with what you suggested
10:36 PM lcnc-relay: <ffffrf> oh okay i think i am right - cool so I would just use pin 1 on the 26 pin header as my second pwm with this firmware like 5ABOB
10:54 PM pcw-home: You can also get enable, dir signals and 5V from P1
10:55 PM pcw-home: Note that the pinout lists DB25 pins
