01:00 AM xxcoder: lego cnc with ai lol https://youtu.be/ec_BtS97IR8
01:12 AM xxcoder: I wonder what backlash is like lol
01:26 AM Deejay: moin
04:01 AM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> Morning
04:45 AM lcnc-relay: <TurBoss> good morning
04:50 AM JT-Cave: morning
05:30 AM Tom_L: morning
05:46 AM Deejay: afternoon
08:54 AM rdtsc_away is now known as rdtsc
09:16 AM rdtsc: xxcoder incredible what some are able to do with Legos... lets send him a spare board and point him towards the downloads section. :)
09:33 AM rdtsc: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCg3qNnh59w Making another pickproof lock (but better)
09:49 AM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> Hmmm, just lost power, and on generator... no flicker or anything, just went out cold...
09:54 AM lcnc-relay: <perry_j1987> pay your bills shesh 🙂
10:01 AM JT-Cave: damn windblows pc won't boot up now
10:23 AM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> there, power is back... transformer blew up the street, apparently...
10:25 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> travis_farmer: that happens. one on my street blew up like 10 years ago, it was 100+ that day.....ancient transformer couldn't handle the load.
10:26 AM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> yeah, too many A/Cs going
10:26 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> yup
10:32 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> Replaced the canister oil lines on the 42.. that was a pain too.. The brass fittings didn't want to come out of the block - open end wrench started rounding the fitting.. (so - I was able to cut the hose and get a 6 point deep socket on it)
10:32 AM Tom_L: JT-Cave, what version?
10:33 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> So - now if the auto parts place actually has the filter element today - oil change
10:34 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> the oil looks like it is a diesle...
10:34 AM bjorkintosh: well aged.
10:35 AM JT-Cave: 7
10:36 AM Tom_L: mmm i seldom have problems with 7
10:37 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Cave: hey, you've been working on your code again......
10:38 AM Tom_L: he has a bit
10:38 AM Tom_L: mdi buttons
10:39 AM Tom_L: and making a gui for his bp
10:46 AM JT-Cave: it was the pc power supply, I had a power blink so an off/on event fixed it
10:46 AM Tom_L: glad it was simple
10:47 AM Tom_L: ok, yardwork done for today... shower time
11:08 AM Tom_L: JT-Cave, how do you interface the numberpad to an input widget?
11:12 AM JT-Cave: working on that now
11:13 AM Tom_L: that would likely be more useful for a touch screen gui
11:14 AM JT-Cave: yup
11:15 AM JT-Cave: and it looks like it will have to be a qlineeidt not a spinbox
11:15 AM JT-Cave: I can use the mouse event on a qlineedit but not a spin box it seems
11:15 AM Tom_L: i wondered about the focus
11:15 AM JT-Cave: and https://forum.linuxcnc.org/41-guis/51580-flexible-gui?start=30#303045
11:16 AM JT-Cave: I have some help maybe with the plotter
11:16 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
11:26 AM Tom_dev: https://forum.qt.io/topic/114058/how-to-receive-mouse-events-for-qdoublespinbox
11:26 AM Gardenweazel: Question: at the end of my G54 program and BEFORE my M30 I want Z to move to top or say Z-1. Can I insert a G53 G0 Z-1 to move Z to the top and will it still maintain G54 X & Y?
11:26 AM Tom_L: yes
11:26 AM Gardenweazel: Thanks Tom!
11:26 AM Tom_L: G53 is world coordinates
11:26 AM Tom_L: G54 are offsets
11:26 AM Gardenweazel: Yep gotcha
11:26 AM Tom_L: i move mine like that for tool changes etc
11:26 AM Tom_L: sometimes i move x & y to if the part is in the way of that
11:26 AM Tom_L: but get z out of the way first
11:26 AM Tom_L: :)
11:26 AM Gardenweazel: and then just call G54 after tool change, right?
11:26 AM Gardenweazel: absolutely on the Z first./
11:26 AM JT-Cave: lol I was reading that but that only works when you click the up/down arrows not the qlineedit
11:26 AM JT-Cave: Gardenweazel, G53 is only for one line of code
11:26 AM Tom_L: i think G53 is non modal in that it needs to be specified on each line so that wouldn't affect the G54 being active
01:22 PM rdtsc is now known as rdtsc_away
01:23 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> well - the oil change went well - it must have taken about 6 quarts..
01:24 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> I idled it for a bit expecting the oil to turn back to black instantly - but it didn't - so yay!
01:26 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> I did find out the 2 bolts that held the coil on the head - go right into the rocker cavity.. I started dumping oil in to the valve cover and it started pouring out of the 2 holes.. Probably lucky I didn't loose a lot of oil while driving...
01:35 PM xxcoder: just tighten oil up if it got loose ;)
03:05 PM rdtsc_away is now known as rdtsc
03:11 PM Tom_L: skunkworks, synthetic or regular oil?
04:51 PM JT-Cave: whew 90°F is my limit for riding the BlueWing
04:58 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> regular..
04:59 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> the interent says - don't use synthetic..
05:24 PM Tom_L: pretty sure you don't wanna mix em
05:26 PM JT-Shop: crap an amazon order is scheduled for Sunday... Sunday delivery's always go to the wrong address and it takes weeks to find it's way here
05:26 PM Tom_L: luckily mine won't come til tues
05:27 PM xxcoder: I found perfect dad day gift for my bro
05:28 PM xxcoder: statue of dog half in soil lol
05:28 PM lcnc-relay: <xxcodery> https://jauriarts.org/_matrix/media/v3/download/jauriarts.org/mtJOoiMyPLCLHFsabAjGZiYa/1713427224501-055f3ff75b7a4610a8faa9cccabdb3bd-goods.png
05:28 PM xxcoder: awesome isnt it
05:30 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> hey - the wifi enabled antanna rotor seems to work.
05:30 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> It is kinda cool
05:30 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> uh.. I might have too many projects
05:30 PM Tom_L: naaaa... you think??
05:31 PM xxcoder: when you have projects as side project of long forgotten project, then maybe? lol
05:49 PM xxcoder: good blondihack today
06:05 PM JT-Shop: every time amazon delivers my package to ruby lane on sunday and not to rugby lane
06:08 PM Tom_L: different driver?
06:08 PM JT-Shop: I assume it's a different driver
06:08 PM JT-Shop: it's weird for sure
06:10 PM JT-Shop: I think sunday delivery is a totally different delivery system than usps
06:10 PM Tom_L: same address different street?
06:10 PM JT-Shop: yup only one letter off on the street name
06:10 PM Tom_L: maybe you should get acquainted
06:11 PM JT-Shop: they delivered the package to me once but I was not here
06:11 PM Tom_L: they won't leave em?
06:12 PM JT-Shop: I saw some spotted fawns in the yard so I assume birthing is done
06:12 PM JT-Shop: they?
06:12 PM Tom_L: amazon
06:12 PM Tom_L: that's cool
06:12 PM JT-Shop: the chap that lives on ruby lane delivered the package to me once
06:13 PM JT-Shop: I think the last few times they just put it back in the mail box and raised the flag
06:13 PM Tom_L: for a while we had a really lazy usps driver
06:14 PM Tom_L: had to go pick up a few at the office
06:14 PM JT-Shop: I don't even think it's usps that delivers on sunday
06:14 PM Tom_L: they do here
06:14 PM Tom_L: they didn't used to
06:15 PM JT-Shop: rural is all by contract delivery folks
06:15 PM Tom_L: yeah that kinda makes sense
06:16 PM Tom_L: my grandfather was a rural mailman driving a model T
06:37 PM * JT-Shop calls it a day
06:38 PM xxcoder: considering dropping jackman works. its more and more ad channel more than content
06:42 PM JT-Cave: https://www.youtube.com/live/nuE2OqBNsrY
06:46 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> just had a my house painter stop by and do a little touch-up...... had to make him take cash.....
07:03 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrlyiLGdJ3k
08:37 PM rdtsc is now known as rdtsc_away
08:45 PM roycroft: the first load of machines moved to my new shop today
08:46 PM roycroft: we'll do another load tomorrow
09:08 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> Awesome! Did it go smoothly enough?
09:09 PM Tom_L: does the rotor go on that large mast you showed the other day?
09:11 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> Tom_L: yes
09:12 PM Tom_L: cool
09:36 PM roycroft: it went well
09:36 PM roycroft: two machines would fit through the new shop door, but i was able to remove components to make them fit
09:37 PM roycroft: there was no damage to anything, which is really great
09:37 PM bjorkintosh: experience counts.
09:38 PM roycroft: along with close supervision of the moving crew
09:38 PM bjorkintosh: (which arguably, comes with experience)
09:38 PM bjorkintosh: they'd say "oops. sorry boss" if they dropped anything.
09:38 PM roycroft: the truck i rented is nice, and it had 653 miles on it when i picked it up
10:40 PM roycroft: so tomorrow we should move all the other machines except my mill-drill and metal lathe, which i'll move in a week or two (to storage for now)
10:41 PM roycroft: i was also just offered a free bridgeport
10:41 PM roycroft: but right now i don't have the space for it, even in the storage unit :(
10:42 PM xxcoder: aw
10:42 PM xxcoder: bad timing
10:43 PM roycroft: oh well
11:37 PM CaptHindsight: you're doing better than me, I fell off the bottom step of a ladder yesterday :)
11:39 PM xxcoder: ldders is unusable to me sadly
