10:18 AM seb_kuzminsky: roguish[m]: which qtdragon config didn't work for you on bullseye?
10:30 AM seb_kuzminsky: hmm, linuxcnc.deb (2.9) Recommends (instead of Depends) some packages that are required to run some of the sample configs, that seems like a bug
12:15 PM JT-Cave: did you install PyQt5?
12:15 PM JT-Cave: sudo apt install python3-pyqt5
12:16 PM roguish[m]: Me? no. it should install with everything else....
02:54 PM pere: hi
02:56 PM roguish[m]: hey Pere...
04:11 PM pere: activity has improved a lot on <URL: https://www.openhub.net/p/emc > :)
04:16 PM roguish[m]: pere: Pere. what is the best, and easiest way to connect with a Windows network? is it Samba? or something better? easier?
04:17 PM roguish[m]: it's late for you...., like midnight
04:17 PM pere: roguish[m]: I tend to use sssd, but it deoend on what you mean by 'connect with a Windows network'.
04:18 PM roguish[m]: well, I have all windows computers to work on CAD. and I need to move files around a lot. mainly gcode files.
04:19 PM roguish[m]: move file both directions....
04:22 PM pere: right. sssd is useful for connecting a linux machine to active directory, which is a different use case.
04:23 PM pere: samba or smb/cifs mounting seem like the most relevant option. perhaps syncthing or something like that can be useful too?
04:24 PM roguish[m]: I don't use active directories. too complicated for me.
04:27 PM roguish[m]: ok, I guess samba it is.
04:27 PM JT-Shop: filezilla
04:28 PM roguish[m]: one more question, please. when I get an rt kernel through synaptic, do I have to get the header files deb also?
04:32 PM roguish[m]: JT-Shop: is it free? I see fileszill pro is $20
04:34 PM JT-Shop: yes filezilla is free and easy to use
04:35 PM JT-Shop: yes you should get the linux-headers deb
05:07 PM Tom_L: roguish[m], i use filezilla (free) or WinSCP
05:07 PM Tom_L: you feelin like a pro?
05:08 PM Tom_L: i use the free one
