12:04 AM Tom_dev: connect times out using the git@github.com: address
12:13 AM seb_kuzminsky: but git push from the buildbot times out
12:13 AM Tom_dev: yes
12:13 AM Tom_dev: well
12:13 AM Tom_dev: it won't start master
12:13 AM Tom_dev: it times out before it finishes
12:14 AM seb_kuzminsky: i dont understand what you just said
12:14 AM Tom_dev: does running in sandbox make any difference?
12:14 AM seb_kuzminsky: i dont know what sandbox means in this context
12:14 AM Tom_dev: 'buildbot start master' takes too long to connect
12:15 AM Tom_dev: The buildmaster took more than 10.0 seconds to start, so we were unable to
12:15 AM Tom_dev: confirm that it started correctly. Please 'tail twistd.log' and look for a line
12:15 AM Tom_dev: that says 'BuildMaster is running' to verify correct startup.
12:15 AM Tom_dev: and nothing is in the log
12:15 AM seb_kuzminsky: hmm, ok that sounds like a different problem
12:15 AM seb_kuzminsky: what's in the master's twistd.log?
12:15 AM Tom_dev: it's empty right now
12:16 AM Tom_dev: i can connect it without the gitpush line...
12:16 AM seb_kuzminsky: is checkconfig ok?
12:17 AM seb_kuzminsky: the gitpush step shouldnt impact starting the buildmaster, maybe it's a syntax error
12:17 AM Tom_dev: yeah something is fishy
12:23 AM Tom_dev: buildbot checkconfig checks ok
12:24 AM Tom_dev: brb
12:36 AM -!- #linuxcnc-devel mode set to +v by ChanServ
12:36 AM Tom_dev: reboot fixed that
12:39 AM Tom_dev: thanks again for the help.. later
01:08 AM pere: andypugh: is there some more that need to be done with <URL: https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/pull/2147 >?
03:37 AM pere: seb_kuzminsky: I got access to the science team, will fix dxfgcode directly in its git repo.
05:24 AM linuxcnc-build: build forced [ETA 2h47m18s]
05:24 AM linuxcnc-build: I'll give a shout when the build finishes
07:55 AM -!- #linuxcnc-devel mode set to +v by ChanServ
09:01 AM linuxcnc-build: build #4859 of 4017.deb-wheezy-amd64 is complete: Failure [4failed shell_2] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/4017.deb-wheezy-amd64/builds/4859
09:20 AM linuxcnc-build: Hey! build 0000.checkin #9417 is complete: Success [3build successful]
09:20 AM linuxcnc-build: Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/0000.checkin/builds/9417
09:39 AM seb_kuzminsky: pere: thanks for taking care of dxf2gcode
09:41 AM seb_kuzminsky: pere i'm passing --allow-untrusted to pbuilder, which is setting aptitude::CmdLine::Ignore-Trust-Violations to True, which is letting the build proceed
09:42 AM seb_kuzminsky: i was hoping for a way to accept the wheezy and jessie package repos - an unexpired version of the key, like ubuntu has for their Precise repo
09:43 AM seb_kuzminsky: but the stuff i found in the various keyrings (at debian.org, openpgp.org, mit.edu, and ubuntu.com) is all expired, and same with the keys at https://ftp-master.debian.org/keys.html
09:51 AM pere: seb_kuzminsky: note, it is possible to specify options in sources.list, if you only want to disable signature checking for some sources.
09:52 AM pere: seb_kuzminsky: isn't wheezy and jessie archived, and no longer supported by debian?
10:25 AM pere: seb_kuzminsky: new dxf2gcode uploaded. tried to update to newer upstream, but failed with the time budget I had available. Every file in debian/patches/ need to be evaluated to see if it is still needed.
10:50 AM seb_kuzminsky: pere: yes, wheezy and jessie are at archive.debian.org now, and no longer supported by debian, but we still have users running on those platforms so we're still building debs of linuxcnc 2.8 for them
10:50 AM linuxcnc-build: build #4860 of 4017.deb-wheezy-amd64 is complete: Failure [4failed shell_2] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/4017.deb-wheezy-amd64/builds/4860
10:55 AM pere: seb_kuzminsky: time for them to upgrade. :)
10:56 AM seb_kuzminsky: i try not to tell people, esp grumpy old machinists, what to do
10:56 AM seb_kuzminsky: when you upgrade Standards-Version like you did in dxf2gcode, how to you verify that the package meets the new standards requirements?
10:58 AM pere: seb_kuzminsky: I normally leave it to lintian, unless I know or by chance discover it breaking some rules. <URL: https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/upgrading-checklist.html > provide a list of what to look for.
10:59 AM seb_kuzminsky: ah, that's useful, thank you!
11:01 AM pere: even grumpy old machinists need security patched software. :)
11:02 AM pere: instead of keeping quiet, the best help we can provide is a simple way to upgrade. :)
11:05 AM seb_kuzminsky: i think usually CNC machines are not on the internet, but on a local lan behind a firewall, so it's not unreasonable to keep them on the old tried and true version of the OS for longer than usual. especially if the one application that people use keeps getting bug fixes
11:05 AM seb_kuzminsky: i think all the wheezy and jessie build workers will build debs again now
11:10 AM roguish[m]: seb_kuzminsky: they certainly do not belong on the internet. they
11:10 AM roguish[m]: they're machine contollers, not media machines....
11:14 AM seb_kuzminsky: yup
11:14 AM seb_kuzminsky: linuxcnc-build: force build --branch=2.8
11:14 AM linuxcnc-build: you must provide a Builder, try 'force build [--branch=BRANCH] [--revision=REVISION] [--props=PROP1=VAL1,PROP2=VAL2...] <WHICH> <REASON>'
11:14 AM seb_kuzminsky: linuxcnc-build: force build --branch=2.8 0000.checkin
11:14 AM linuxcnc-build: The build has been queued, I'll give a shout when it starts
11:20 AM pere: seb_kuzminsky: I am sure they are on the internet, but agree that they _should not_ be on the internet. a firewall is not a substitute for pulling the plug and disconnecting them completely from the Internet.
11:22 AM seb_kuzminsky: i'm heading out for Thanksgiving with my family, see you all later this weekend!
11:22 AM Tom_L: well you at least gotta have irc on it
11:22 AM roguish[m]: ciao dude
11:47 AM linuxcnc-build: build forced [ETA 2h54m06s]
