11:30 AM seb_kuzminsky: smoe: hi there, i'm looking at the rejection letter from the ftpmaster
11:36 AM smoe: I think I completed the work on it. The icons with a CC-2.5 are not in the source tree, just the readme is referencing them.
11:36 AM seb_kuzminsky: the only mention of cc-2.5 i can find is in the qtvcp icons README - we don't even have the icons with that license in our repo, so i think we can just delete the mention of them from the README
11:36 AM seb_kuzminsky: :-)
11:36 AM smoe: Hm. Either that or an entry in d/README.source.
11:36 AM smoe: I prefer the latter and a note to the FTPmasters.
11:36 AM smoe: Let me do the PR. One moment.
11:36 AM seb_kuzminsky: ok
11:41 AM seb_kuzminsky: got it
11:44 AM smoe: I am off keyboard for a few minutes now. I still wanted to go through the LinuxCNC files and copy those email addresses that appear frequently and add these to the LinuxCNC copyright block. I also toyed with the thought to have not one monolithic copyright block but have subsections for HAL, EMC, UI etc.
11:49 AM pere: ah, that was quick from ftpmasters.
01:00 PM seb_kuzminsky: yeah, i'm super impressed
02:58 PM smoe: I just pushed an update to the copyright file. The license specified in the files themselves vary between GPL-2 and GPL-2+.
02:59 PM smoe: No idea if that is a problem. Depends on the day, I think. Should nonetheless be fixed, I suggest.
03:11 PM CaptHindsight[m]: I know RTAI debs won't be packaged, but how to request that RTAI not be broken for use with LCNC? For those that wish to build it themselves.
03:12 PM CaptHindsight[m]: same for Xenomai
03:56 PM seb_kuzminsky: CaptHindsight[m]: i'm all for not breaking rtai or xenomai
03:57 PM seb_kuzminsky: the difficulty is that if those kernels are not packaged, then they're awkward to install/maintain in the buildbot, so we don't get continuous testing on those platforms
03:57 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: do you plan to upload pycam to debian too?
03:57 PM seb_kuzminsky: pere: i'd like to, but i'm maxed out with linuxcnc stuff at the moment :-/
03:58 PM seb_kuzminsky: CaptHindsight[m]: if it's important to you, and you have the cycles to spare to work on it, i'd love it if you set up a parallel buildbot running those platforms
03:59 PM CaptHindsight[m]: 👯
03:59 PM seb_kuzminsky: i... don't know what that means
03:59 PM CaptHindsight[m]: happy dancers
04:00 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: I can help brush up the code, and am happy to sponsor an upload. The two pull requests on <URL: https://github.com/SebKuzminsky/pycam/pulls > Are the last issues I have found so far.
04:00 PM CaptHindsight[m]: with bunny ears apparently
04:00 PM seb_kuzminsky: 👍
04:00 PM seb_kuzminsky: pere: great, thank you!
04:01 PM CaptHindsight[m]: seb_kuzminsky: BUT it would be running builds on Gentoo, i don't have anything Debian except for LCNC tests of the releases
04:02 PM CaptHindsight[m]: will figure something out
04:06 PM seb_kuzminsky: pere: thanks, merged :-)
04:06 PM seb_kuzminsky: CaptHindsight[m]: cool, that'll test builds on gentoo also, good stuff
04:10 PM CaptHindsight[m]: maybe something like on this https://www.interserver.net/vps/storage.html
04:11 PM CaptHindsight[m]: I have no good way to host locally and securely with public access
04:36 PM seb_kuzminsky: digital ocean (which hosts forum.linuxcnc.org) gives discounts to open-source users, but i don't know how it compares to what you linked above
10:53 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: I suspect the pycam packaging in git is good enough to go into debian.
