09:25 AM jepler: JT-Shop: I noticed an email from digitalocean about high disk usage on the forum. I don't know if you get these messages. I was able to recover some disk space by running "apt autoremove", which removed some old kernel images. Now only 79% of storage is used. We can increase total storage from 30GB to 50GB without increasing cost, but it would have an unknown amount of downtime to actually perform the resize operation.
09:25 AM jepler: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
09:25 AM jepler: /dev/vda1 30G 22G 6.2G 79% /
09:49 AM jepler: Thanks -- someone is welcome to figure out how to do that. the time cost of managing donations to cover a $12/month service seems higher than just paying the $12. digitalocean doesn't seem to have any way to directly accept donations to apply to server costs, you can credit via paypal but only if you have access to the cloud control panel which isn't candy.
09:53 AM jepler: I don't do much work anymore :)
09:54 AM jepler: https://ideas.digitalocean.com/ideas/DO-I-2444
09:54 AM jepler: They've marked it "will not implement"
09:57 AM jepler: roguish: If you wanted to paypal me $144 I will add $144 to the digitalocean balance, it's the $5 or $10 donation that seems too much trouble.
09:58 AM jepler: msg me if you want to figure out the details
10:08 AM jepler: roguish: thank you
11:00 AM JT-Shop: jepler, I don't think I got that email
11:33 AM jepler: JT-Shop: looks like they only go to me. you can set them up in the cloud control panel, select "monitoring" on the left hand pane
11:33 AM jepler: I have it set up to notify me of high CPU and disk usage.
11:34 AM jepler: (but in an account I don't monitor)
11:35 AM JT-Shop: let me see if I can get into the cloud...
01:39 PM JT-Cave: email or password not correct at the cloud, tried twice to reset my password but don't get the email with the link yet I just got two emails from digital ocean for payments
