05:56 AM htasta: andypugh: the strange thing with wicd is that I'm using it on my laptop for a long time without issues but when testing the 2.8 ISO I saw where it's bad. I couldn't find an option to auto connect to a network despite being able to do so on my laptop. Also I don't know if it's just me who is to stupid to add a new network without physical connection or if wicd really can't do that at all.

07:56 AM JT-Cave: andypugh, I'm out of time this morning I have to drive to Manila and pick up some fence panels\
10:20 AM skunkworks: htasta: same - I had unplugged the network cable and when I pugged it back in - I could not get wicd to re-connect.
04:22 PM andypugh: seb_kuzminsky: jepler: A typo has been found in the CNC.menu file. This does not appear to be a problem for Debian / XFCE but causes the CNC menu to not appear with the Mate Desktop in Mint (and, at a guess, in others)
04:23 PM andypugh: Does this need a 2.8.1 release to fix it, or is there a way to re-release the 2.8.0 debs? It’s arguably packaging rather than application…
04:30 PM skunkworks: andypugh: Heh - I remember a few times that the next release came quickly after..
04:30 PM skunkworks: andypugh: cool video - did you use the high speed spindle to make the spanner?
04:30 PM andypugh: There is actually quite a changelog
04:31 PM skunkworks: It was a huge update
04:31 PM andypugh: Yes. It probably wouldn’t have been worth fitting it, but it was already on.
04:31 PM andypugh: And I mean that there is quite a list of bugfixes since 2.8
04:32 PM skunkworks: oh - already? neat!
04:32 PM andypugh: Chris and Phill have been busy
04:36 PM skunkworks: BTW - I downloaded the xfce buster livecd and installed linuxcnc/rtpreempt.. Every thing went smooth
04:41 PM skunkworks: I think bash-completion should be added to the livecd
04:42 PM skunkworks: (package)
04:54 PM andypugh: What does that do? (I thought tab-completion was always there?)
04:58 PM skunkworks: so did i.. but no. tab completion doesnt work very well at all on the livecd
05:00 PM skunkworks: on the livecd - if you do a sudo apt(tab) you don't get anything
05:02 PM JT-Shop: what do you expect?
05:03 PM andypugh: Right, you get path-completion but not command completion
05:03 PM JT-Shop: ah I see what you get
05:04 PM JT-Shop: https://dpaste.com/45PQMHD84
05:04 PM JT-Shop: never knew you could do that
05:07 PM skunkworks: right - the path completion works but not command - although some commands seem to auto compleat
05:08 PM skunkworks: I guess I am used to both working
05:08 PM skunkworks: I thought something was seriously broken until I found out it was a saparate package
05:09 PM skunkworks: separate
