09:58 AM linuxcnc-build: build #6404 of 0000.checkin is complete: Failure [4failed fetch branch to local git repo] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/0000.checkin/builds/6404 blamelist: Sebastian Kuzminsky <seb@highlab.com>
10:32 AM linuxcnc-build: build #6405 of 0000.checkin is complete: Failure [4failed fetch branch to local git repo] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/0000.checkin/builds/6405 blamelist: Sebastian Kuzminsky <seb@highlab.com>
10:36 AM seb_kuzminsky: this is wierd: http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot-admin/builders/0000.checkin/builds/6405/steps/fetch%20branch%20to%20local%20git%20repo/logs/stdio
10:37 AM seb_kuzminsky: while that error was happening i was pinging from the buildmaster (where that fetch ran) to github.com, no problems, 0% packet loss
10:37 AM jepler: password protected link apparently
10:38 AM jepler: removing -admin lets me read it
10:38 AM seb_kuzminsky: oh, yeah, sorry
10:40 AM jepler: that is odd
10:41 AM seb_kuzminsky: this time it didn't fail
10:42 AM seb_kuzminsky: i accidentally had left the checkin buildslave on the old buildmaster running and now i killed it, but that shouldn't matter i wouldn't think...
10:44 AM seb_kuzminsky: shruggy.txt
03:33 PM pcw_mesa: jepler: I see you fixed the SPI access on the RPI, that makes it quite a bit nicer to change / view firmware with mesaflash
03:36 PM jepler: pcw_mesa if you tested it,I can merge it
03:38 PM pcw_mesa: Yeah, just tried running LinuxCNC and mesaflash back to back and no issues (on RPI4)
03:41 PM pcw_mesa: RPI4 (especially 4G) is much nicer for LinuxCNC than RPI3 (RPI3 would hang if you did fancy full screen graphic operations with really dense backplots, probably out of memory)
03:45 PM pcw_mesa: just snappier in general (also reserving CPUs 1,2,3 for realtime seems to have a side benefit, LinuxCNC/RT uses so few resources that the power consumption is quite low so tiny stick-on heatsink gets to maybe 55 C max)
03:53 PM jepler: nice thanks!
03:53 PM jepler: oh maybe I did merge it already?
03:54 PM pcw_mesa: must have, this is just master (2.9)
05:46 PM skunkworks: Yes - the rpi4 is very usable
06:07 PM pcw_mesa: Its still ok with only 1 core running userland (I think faster than the old Atom D525s etc)
06:59 PM skunkworks: yah - when I first started playing with it - isolating all but 1 core made it almost unusable. Now is seems ok.
06:59 PM skunkworks: Don't know what my issue was initally.
06:59 PM skunkworks: I still don't think ethernet would run 1khz even with 3 cores.
06:59 PM skunkworks: (isolate) atleast the last time I tried
07:07 PM pcw_mesa: Yes this is SPI which is fine at 1 KHz and isolcpus 1,2,3
07:09 PM pcw_mesa: turbo so 1.5 GHz
07:25 PM skunkworks: that was probably it.. Initally I was running 800mhz or whatever the low is
07:27 PM pcw_mesa: I have a tiny heatsink and its fine
07:45 PM skunkworks: that is what I started with - seemed fine
07:48 PM pcw_mesa: Yeah its been running linuxcnc for a week or so, no real issues
07:51 PM skunkworks: I havent had any issues since changing to ntp..
10:59 PM fjungclaus1 is now known as fjungclaus
