12:02 PM seb_kuzminsky: hi mozmck, are you still planning to be release manager for 2.8?
12:03 PM seb_kuzminsky: if so, i'm getting ready to make 2.7.15 and if you want we can do it together and i can show you how i do it
12:10 PM seb_kuzminsky: CMorley: can you explain commit 46afeab224fc3e433fdfab1382db9f78beac766d to me? the commit message seems to imply it only affects sim but i don't get that feeling from the code
12:25 PM CMorley: You are right - it doesn't just affect sim. it forces a particular theme for that screen. A theme designated for it.
12:28 PM Tom_L: if 2.8 is going to be released on buster, there are a couple dependency issues
12:29 PM seb_kuzminsky: CMorley: thanks
12:29 PM seb_kuzminsky: Tom_L: yeah, there are a couple of issues packaging on Buster still :-/
12:29 PM seb_kuzminsky: i don't know anything about the plans for 2.8
12:30 PM Tom_L: andy started to do something and got stuck on the gmoccapy & gscreen dependenies
03:25 PM JT-Shop: any way I can document the release process for future folks?
03:26 PM Tom_L: that would be a great idea!
05:45 PM seb_kuzminsky: JT-Shop: it's documented somewhat here: http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ReleaseCheckList
05:50 PM jthornton: is there anything missing from that page?
05:58 PM seb_kuzminsky: i'm not sure... probably?
05:58 PM seb_kuzminsky: it's what i use every time i make a release
06:05 PM jthornton: ok
06:05 PM jthornton: if you think of something let me know
06:11 PM seb_kuzminsky: sure, will do (or i'll just add it to that wiki page myself)
06:11 PM seb_kuzminsky: i think it's pretty complete, really
06:11 PM seb_kuzminsky: how are you john? long time no see
06:14 PM jthornton: not bad fell into the creek riding my mountain bike the other day... all black and blue lol
06:14 PM jthornton: I'm adding that page to the developers manual in case we lose the wiki again
06:15 PM seb_kuzminsky: ah, thanks
06:15 PM seb_kuzminsky: yeah, keeping stuff in git is probably better than on the wiki, thanks
06:16 PM jthornton: yea agree on that
06:18 PM jthornton: just need to clean it up a bit and it's done in 2.8
06:19 PM seb_kuzminsky: how is 2.8 coming along? i'm still on 2.7 on all my machines, and i've been pretty much out of the loop for the past year or so
06:20 PM jthornton: I use 2.8 on the BP mill so I can have PyQtVCP which is pretty neat and easy to build a GUI to your liking
06:21 PM jthornton: oh and I have 2.8 on the plasma, still need to write a gui for the lathe
06:24 PM jthornton: and I've been having fun flying my quads lately lol... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbnPXC39LRc&t=49s
06:25 PM jthornton: I'm flying LoS but recorded it on my FPV goggles, not good enough to fly FPV in the Machine Shop
06:30 PM seb_kuzminsky: lol, aereal tour of the machine shop
06:30 PM jthornton: yea, only crashed once lol
06:30 PM jthornton: so I'm getting much better
06:31 PM jthornton: chow time here
06:31 PM seb_kuzminsky: thought you might catch your beard in the rotors there
