01:27 PM KimK: Oops, did I break c-log?
01:28 PM KimK: Yay, c-log lives! Good job, c-log.
02:53 PM skunkworks: pcw_home: P1 - pin1 is upper left and you count counter clock wise? so the pin opposite of pin1 is pin26?
03:05 PM pcw_mesa: Headers are numbered:
03:05 PM pcw_mesa: *1 *2
03:05 PM pcw_mesa: *3 *4
03:05 PM pcw_mesa: ...
03:05 PM pcw_mesa: *25*26
03:05 PM pcw_mesa: Pin 1 has square pad
03:06 PM skunkworks: really?
03:07 PM skunkworks: :) So just like the manual....
03:09 PM skunkworks: so - i/o 26 and 27 are actually pin 11 and 13
03:10 PM skunkworks: so abut half way down the left side left side of the header pin
03:11 PM skunkworks: (you setup a bit file with smart serial on t P1)
03:11 PM pcw_mesa: Yeah theres some weirdness because of the parallel port ground compatibility
03:13 PM pcw_mesa: the manual has the header pinout (though does not show the DB25 equivalents)
03:14 PM pcw_mesa: beware that mesaflash shows the DB25 pins
03:17 PM skunkworks: pcw_home: that is what threw me off
03:17 PM skunkworks: if I go i/o to hdr pins from the manual - it makes sense
03:25 PM skunkworks: pcw_home: how short should the wires be between the plug and line driver?
03:27 PM skunkworks: pcw_home: http://electronicsam.com/images/greenmachine/20190315_152104.jpg
04:24 PM skunkworks: wow - that acutally worked
04:24 PM skunkworks: so the only oddness is the pins changed from hm2_7i92.0.stbl.0.1. to hm2_7i92.0.stbl.0.0.
04:38 PM skunkworks: pcw_mesa: http://electronicsam.com/images/greenmachine/20190315_163044.jpg
04:39 PM skunkworks: now to heat shrink it... ;)
04:40 PM skunkworks: well - I should add a cap on the supply
04:43 PM pcw_mesa: yeah a bypass would not be amiss
04:48 PM pcw_mesa: Bypasses are somewhat black magic, akin to firecrackers for warding off evil spirits, can't have too many...
04:48 PM skunkworks: heh- pepper them on...
04:49 PM pcw_mesa: I wonder how many designers have "Muntzed" bypasses to see how many are really needed?
04:51 PM skunkworks: I think there has been some info on that.. version 1 of the widget worked great - version 2 dosn't - removed caps..
04:54 PM pcw_mesa: power supply noise is quite random seeming (since various noise sources can add and subtract) so you are never quite sure of your margins
04:54 PM pcw_mesa: hence a tendency to overkill
05:03 PM pcw_mesa: You could have remained at hm2_7i92.0.stbl.0.1 by choosing the second sserial channel on the header
05:04 PM pcw_mesa: I think there are 4 channels
05:24 PM skunkworks: yes.. the fist ss channel is used on yhe 7i76?
05:42 PM pcw_mesa: Yes for field I/O
08:43 PM skunkworks: http://electronicsam.com/images/greenmachine/20190315_182019.jpg
08:44 PM skunkworks: 3d printers are cool ;)
08:46 PM skunkworks: heh
10:39 PM hazzy-m: nice!
10:39 PM hazzy-m: did that just about max out you printer?
11:24 PM skunkworks: hazzy-m: yes.. the print area is 4.7^3
