01:18 AM linuxcnc-build_: Hey! build 0000.checkin #5084 is complete: Success [3build successful]
01:20 AM linuxcnc-build_: Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/0000.checkin/builds/5084
04:03 AM -!- #linuxcnc-devel mode set to +v by ChanServ
07:36 AM jepler: seb_kuzminsky: welcome back! thanks for propping buildbot back up.
07:59 AM jepler: (ISPs are the worst)
08:12 AM skunkworks: yes - Rant! Our business uses charter business internet. We cannot have a spare modem on site in case of a lightning strike/hardware failure. SO - whenever we lose a modem - we are down for at least a day.
08:23 AM skunkworks: our little coop in trempealeau is pretty decent considering..
09:32 AM alex_joni: hi all
09:33 AM jepler: hi alex_joni !
09:33 AM jepler: what's up?
09:43 AM cradek: hi alex!
09:45 AM skunkworks: alex_joni, how is the heat?
09:52 AM JT-Shop: hi Alex!
10:08 AM skunkworks: aww - you can't just do a drive by ;)
10:09 AM skunkworks: btw - I have cute kids.. http://electronicsam.com/images/matsuura/20170709_185120.jpg
04:18 PM alex_joni: hi .. sorry bout the drive-by, didn't realize it's time to leave work :D
04:20 PM jepler: alex_joni: we've all done it
04:20 PM alex_joni: how are things around here?
04:20 PM jepler: quiet
04:21 PM alex_joni: I saw the lists are also kinda quiet
04:21 PM * alex_joni tries to read them from time to time
04:22 PM jepler: my biggest effort lately was getting a live/install image based on debian stretch made. it works well on some systems and not others, just like always
04:22 PM jepler: we continue itching towards stability with the master branch, which has JA inside, but nobody's really cracking a whip to get it out to users as "2.8.0"
04:23 PM alex_joni: heh, yeah I saw that
04:23 PM * alex_joni picked up woodworking lately
04:23 PM alex_joni: still doing some lcnc related stuff
04:24 PM jepler: woodworking seems like a cool hobby
04:25 PM alex_joni: it is partly necessity/partly hobby ;)
04:26 PM jepler: I've been doing 3d-printy things, without LinuxCNC :-/
04:26 PM alex_joni: I saw some blog posts
04:26 PM alex_joni: looks nice ;)
04:27 PM jepler: thanks
04:28 PM jepler: every once in awhile I toy with the idea of replacing the electronics with something that talks to a Mesa board but I'd basically have to design my own RAMPS-or-similar clone and that's a lot of work
04:28 PM alex_joni: only 3d printing I've done is this: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/gadgets/other/watchband-adapter-for-sony-smartwatch-3
04:30 PM jepler: looks useful
04:30 PM alex_joni: yeah, couldn't find an affordable model.. most were expensive
04:31 PM alex_joni: and the original product is only available in japan
04:32 PM alex_joni: anyways, we digress :D
04:33 PM jepler: that's mostly what we do
04:34 PM alex_joni: I recall ;)
05:11 PM alex_joni: hi samco ;)
05:18 PM skunkworks: alex_joni, Hello!
05:18 PM skunkworks: alex_joni, how is the heat?
05:26 PM skunkworks: I think alex is a robot... ;)
05:30 PM alex_joni: not really a robot, but easily distracted
05:31 PM alex_joni: the heat is just fine thank you
05:31 PM alex_joni: we're happily simmering away :D
05:31 PM alex_joni: kidding.. the last 2 days were great (under 30C/86F)
05:32 PM alex_joni: but before that we had up to 105F which is not nice
05:33 PM alex_joni: next day it was 75F max
05:58 PM andypugh: Is ir possible to increase the shared memory size? Someone has a problem: https://forum.linuxcnc.org/10-advanced-configuration/3894-insufficient-memory-for-signal-pin?start=10#97204
06:04 PM pcw_mesa: Yeah its been increased a couple times before. I think its a LinuxCNC compile time constant
06:05 PM andypugh: I thought it was. I am failing to find it though. (github search isn’t the best)
06:16 PM alex_joni: http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?LockedMemory
06:18 PM alex_joni: and maybe this: http://git.linuxcnc.org/gitweb?p=linuxcnc.git;a=blob;f=src/hal/hal_priv.h;h=a862bdf01b8b9f13979659ba1aff79f6d3d2927e;hb=HEAD#l333
06:18 PM alex_joni: #define HAL_SIZE (75*4096)
06:20 PM andypugh: Thanks
06:54 PM andypugh: pcw_mesa: I will have to get back to the 7i90 / 7i43 tomorrow
10:04 PM jepler: andypugh: I appreciate you doing followups on those github issues. it's negessary work, but not at all glamorous
