05:00 AM jthornton: pcw_home: yea he is from Baton Rouge
08:10 AM jthornton: what do you have to do to get linuxcnc-dev to install on debian wheezy? I've added deb http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/ wheezy 2.7-rtpreempt deb-src http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/ wheezy 2.7-rtpreempt
08:11 AM jthornton: and the key sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keys.gnupg.net --recv-key E0EE663E
08:13 AM jthornton: and this is on preempt so I think I see that I need linuxcnc-uspace-dev
10:51 AM pcw_home: B40A40s on Ebay:
10:51 AM pcw_home: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Advanced-Motion-Controls-B40A40E-Brushless-Servo-Amplifier-/252801168962?hash=item3adc1fb642:g:IiYAAOSwTuJYvd7e
12:04 PM skunkworks: pcw_home, cool
12:04 PM skunkworks: that isn;t a bad price - dad has bought them cheaper
12:05 PM skunkworks: pcw_home, what would be a good way to connect a pnp sensor directly to the mesa 5i25?
12:05 PM pcw_home: Not terribly common
12:05 PM pcw_home: and they have 8
12:05 PM skunkworks: yes
12:07 PM skunkworks: a 100ohm pull down?
12:07 PM pcw_home: probably an Opto or a transistor
12:07 PM pcw_home: (or a 220 ohm pulldown resistor if the PNP sensor can run on 5V)
12:08 PM skunkworks: yes - it can run at 5v and it seems to have a 100ma driving
12:08 PM skunkworks: sorry 50ma for the pnp
12:08 PM skunkworks: still - should switch 220 just fine
12:08 PM skunkworks: 220ohm
12:17 PM skunkworks: we now have 3 amc drives (20a20 range that we should have tested when we bought them - the seem to be doa - don't power up)
12:17 PM skunkworks: oh well
12:37 PM pcw_home: Yeah, best to test for DOA asap
12:42 PM Roguish_ is now known as Roguish
03:43 PM skunkworks: pcw_home, it is npn... read the spec wrong
03:43 PM skunkworks: duh
03:43 PM pcw_home: NPN should work as is
03:49 PM skunkworks: yep - just have to make sure it will read at 6khz.. the spec is very ambiguous.. 1k min 3khz average..
03:50 PM skunkworks: 6khz ish
03:51 PM pcw_home: probably need to scope it while adjusting distance
03:53 PM skunkworks: yes - that is how I am testing it
03:53 PM skunkworks: these are omron slot detectors
03:53 PM skunkworks: (something I had easy access to to test)
04:13 PM Roguish: pcw_home: hey, how's the big move coming along?
04:13 PM pcw_home: well still fixing thins on the new building
04:13 PM pcw_home: things
04:14 PM Roguish: lots of wires....
04:14 PM Roguish: and a nice place for the dog.
04:17 PM pcw_home: Yeah, plus we can walk to work now
04:17 PM Roguish: now that's a good bonus.
