01:03 PM pcw_mesa: jepler: halscope launches properly with your patch
01:05 PM pcw_mesa: unfortunately there a new? issue (following error when halscope is launched the firs time)
01:15 PM skunkworks_: following error lauching halscope?
01:17 PM pcw_mesa: yes
02:01 PM KGB-linuxcnc: 03Dewey Garrett 05dgarr/external_offsets de5bbc5 06linuxcnc 10(61 files in 14 dirs) External Axis Offset hal pins * 14http://git.linuxcnc.org/?p=linuxcnc.git;a=commitdiff;h=de5bbc5
02:13 PM jepler: pcw_mesa: that's unexpected, but loading rt modules after "halcmd start" is uncommon and I doubt it's tested much
02:14 PM jepler: I wonder if 'loadrt and2' (or some other component not yet loaded) would do it on your system

02:37 PM pcw_mesa: jepler: I''ll try loadrt other things
02:37 PM pcw_mesa: I should also try on a different system (I've never seen this issue before but this is a slightly strange system (ubuntu 16.04 32 bit)
02:47 PM pcw_mesa: Just tried on Mint 18/64bit, no issue so may be something weird with Ubuntu 16.04 or 32 bit or just hardware
02:48 PM pcw_mesa: Kinda wish the peak following error was recorded
02:53 PM linuxcnc-build: build #4820 of 0000.checkin is complete: Failure [4failed] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/0000.checkin/builds/4820 blamelist: dummy, Jeff Epler <jepler@unpythonic.net>, Chris Morley <chrisinnanaimo@hotmail.com>, Norbert Schechner <nieson@web.de>, Sebastian Kuzminsky <seb@highlab.com>, chris morley

06:20 PM andypugh: Is anyone in a position to try the sim/axis/lathe config?
06:21 PM andypugh: I am getting:
06:21 PM andypugh: Missing <max linear speed> specifier
06:21 PM andypugh: See the 'INI Configuration' documents
06:25 PM andypugh: I wonder where that (confusing) message comes from?
06:32 PM skunkworks: 2.7.8 works
06:33 PM andypugh: I think it is a 2.8 problem. I fixed it by changing a MAX_VELOCITY to MAX_LINEAR_VELOCITY. But the message says <max linear SPEED>
06:38 PM dgarr: The message was improved a bit recently: http://git.linuxcnc.org/gitweb?p=linuxcnc.git;a=commitdiff;h=06b77729c93ff0e17d768e3f181f75dd33c31aab
06:39 PM andypugh: I think it is my rather untidy system. The configs in git seem right.
06:39 PM andypugh: I have a bit of a tangle of versions and installed / RIP. Not sure where it actually finds files.
06:40 PM andypugh: Aye, it looks like i am reporting a fixed problem. Sorry for the noise.
06:41 PM andypugh: And I think this crazy message is down to using a VM?
06:41 PM andypugh: task: 1 cycles, min=179769313486231570814527423731704356798070567525844996598917476803157260780028538760589558632766878171540458953514382464234321326889464182768467546703537516986049910576551282076245490090389328944075868508455133942304583236903222948165808559332123348274797826204144723168738177180919299881250404026184124858368.000000, max=0.000000, avg=0.000000, 0 latency excursions (> 10x expeca
06:41 PM andypugh: That’s a big number. Older than the agoe of the universe, I think.
06:42 PM andypugh: Anyway time to stop for the night.
07:10 PM linuxcnc-build: build #1958 of 1902.clang-wheezy-rtai-i386 is complete: Failure [4failed compile] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/1902.clang-wheezy-rtai-i386/builds/1958 blamelist: dummy, Dewey Garrett <dgarrett@panix.com>, Jeff Epler <jepler@unpythonic.net>
07:15 PM dgarr: error: implicit declaration of function ‘fmod’
07:15 PM dgarr: is this because fmod() is not in rtapi_math.h?
07:22 PM linuxcnc-build: build #4016 of 1301.rip-precise-rtai-i386 is complete: Failure [4failed compile] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/1301.rip-precise-rtai-i386/builds/4016 blamelist: dummy, Dewey Garrett <dgarrett@panix.com>, Jeff Epler <jepler@unpythonic.net>
07:38 PM jepler: dgarr: yeah, I don't know whether fmod() is actually available. The stuff in rtapi_math.h is a sort of "meet in the middle" of routines we need, and which we can either provide trivial implementations for OR are consistently in all the supported rtai versions
07:39 PM dgarr: i just tested on wheezy rtai and adding fmod to rtapi_math.h seemed to work
07:39 PM jepler: OK
07:39 PM linuxcnc-build: build #2633 of 1401.rip-wheezy-rtai-i386 is complete: Failure [4failed compile] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/1401.rip-wheezy-rtai-i386/builds/2633 blamelist: dummy, Dewey Garrett <dgarrett@panix.com>, Jeff Epler <jepler@unpythonic.net>
07:39 PM jepler: if there is a test which loadrts your component then it will be verified on all buildbot architectures
07:40 PM jepler: otherwise there might or might not be a non-fatal warning at compile time
07:40 PM dgarr: i will make a commit for the master branch include fmod() in rtapi_math.h
07:41 PM jepler: aha, add it to tests/realtime-math/rtmath.comp and it will get tested to loadrt on all buildbot architectures
