[06:45:15] <skunkworks> http://www.model-engineer.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=120519&p=6
[06:47:10] <archivist> hehe wernt me guv
[06:47:29] <skunkworks> I figured it wasn't you. I wonder who.
[06:48:20] <skunkworks> linux screens are not suitable for selling to third party users. darn
[06:48:44] <archivist> he does say things so very wrong
[06:50:12] <archivist> although I do understand how he fails to get of with things, "metal block"
[07:15:42] <skunkworks> he complains about throwing money at solutions that didn't work and he seems to still be doing it. (well - it may or may not work)
[07:15:59] <skunkworks> when there is a solution that does work. (but he doesn't like)
[07:18:24] <archivist> he is unwilling to learn
[07:18:45] <archivist> a bit like me and maths
[07:19:27] <skunkworks> heh
[07:19:29] <skunkworks> http://www.cnczone.com/forums/cnc-wood-router-project-log/286992-cnc-cad-9.html
[07:52:47] <skunkworks> steve might be happy now?
[07:52:48] <skunkworks> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTacj_DCH6w&feature=youtu.be
[07:53:27] <skunkworks> but does it have jwp?
[07:54:12] <skunkworks> hmm the picture at the end - sure looks like the peaks are different widths..
[08:04:50] <archivist> sounded a bit rough and did not seem to have a spring pass, and.....I see no nut to prove it fits
[08:07:20] <rob_h> if going to cut a thread that far out from a chuck let alown a collet, why not use a rollerbox ?
[08:16:48] <archivist> I should do a linuxcnc thread and put the result on the thread measuring machine
[08:40:12] <cradek> counting troughs from the left at that upper reflection, #8 and #9 sure look like completely different widths
[08:40:36] <cradek> might just be varying surface finish
[08:41:24] <cradek> 12/13 are also quite different
[09:12:25] <JT-Shop> skunkworks: where is your last build thread?
[09:45:21] <skunkworks> This? http://forum.linuxcnc.org/forum/38-general-linuxcnc-questions/30441-matsuura-mc-500v2-retrofit?limitstart=0
[10:05:50] <JT-Shop> yep, thanks
[10:43:44] <JT-Shop> can the 7i48 control 5 axes and a spindle?
[10:44:37] <pcw_home> Yes
[10:45:31] <JT-Shop> thanks
[10:50:03] <skunkworks> or 4 axis and 2 spindles ;)
[14:27:19] <KGB-wlo> push to master branch: http://linuxcnc.org/
[14:27:25] -linuxcnc-github:#linuxcnc-devel- [13wlo] 15jepler pushed 1 new commit to 06master: 02https://github.com/LinuxCNC/wlo/commit/9c1ac52cdc0352782f1329a04c7420ea2bc0e8e4
[14:27:25] -linuxcnc-github:#linuxcnc-devel- 13wlo/06master 149c1ac52 15Jeff Epler: new showcase
[14:30:31] <cradek> jepler: thank you for continuing to do that, after we all ignore your request that someone else do it
[14:30:52] <jepler> cradek: that's how it goes
[14:30:57] <cradek> yeah
[15:02:33] <skunkworks_> Oh - I know that guy
[15:04:09] <skunkworks_> He sometimes smells funny - but overall - nice guy.
[15:12:33] <JT-Shop> can you have 2 7i33TA's and a 7i44 on a 5/6i24?
[15:15:14] <Tom_itx> 7i33 a breakout?
[15:15:30] <pcw_mesa> yes
[15:16:49] <pcw_mesa> you can have any combination of 50 pin breakouts on a 5I23/5I24/6I24/7I80HD/7I90/7I93
[15:16:59] <JT-Shop> 7i33TA is a 4 axis servo card
[15:17:04] <JT-Shop> thanks
[15:17:05] <Tom_itx> anybody want a digitizer pad?
[15:17:13] <Tom_itx> sumographics iirc
[15:19:23] <pcw_mesa> 5I20 can have almost any combination but does not support the resolver interface or larger configs (FPGA space limitations)
[15:28:19] <cradek> summagraphics
[15:31:24] <Tom_itx> yeah that
[15:31:34] <Tom_itx> it's pretty old
[22:32:35] <skunkworks> some assembly required.. http://electronicsam.com/images/matsuura/20160929_193623.jpg
[22:34:03] <skunkworks> zlog
[22:41:53] <skunkworks> I did get the center section pressed back together with 90 deg phase. It was pretty easy using the matsuura and a probe.
[22:43:39] <skunkworks> within a few thousands of 90 anyways
[22:45:24] <kirk_wallace> Engine crankshaft?
[22:50:06] <skunkworks_> kirk_wallace: yes.. snowmobile engine being converted to Stirling as an experiment
[22:50:29] <kirk_wallace> Cool.
[22:52:02] <skunkworks_> Don't have to make a crank.. just press back together the orientation I want
[22:52:49] <mozmck1> I didn't know there were press-together cranks
[22:53:03] <skunkworks_> Only took a few years for the light bulb to go off.. I really didn't know most 2 cycle engine cranks are pressed together
[22:53:15] <mozmck1> Interesting!
[22:53:49] <skunkworks_> Go figure! :)
[22:56:24] <skunkworks_> It is pressing together easier than it came apart..
