[06:52:32] <tinkerer> Hi all.
[06:53:50] <tinkerer> is there a mesa embargo against europe?
[06:57:49] <tinkerer> all distributors here complain of extreme delivery delays.
[06:59:52] <tinkerer> it's quasi impossible to get a 7i90HD.
[07:00:23] <tinkerer> are there any backdoors to get one?
[07:13:20] <Tom_shop> doesn't look like JT carries them either
[07:13:46] <Tom_shop> http://mesaus.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=62
[07:18:35] <tinkerer> the problem is not the shop.
[07:20:15] <tinkerer> the main prob is that mesa doesn't deliver.
[07:22:10] <jthornton> what do you connect the 7i90HD host end to?
[07:22:55] <tinkerer> SPI
[07:27:13] <jthornton> like a 7i46 board?
[07:30:43] <tinkerer> hm, is the host end not the host interface?
[07:43:43] <tinkerer> Ok I need a spi host interface.
[07:48:20] <tinkerer> cool... http://mesaus.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=7i46
[08:17:44] <jepler> silly github, there's no shorthand way in an issue to say "look in branch FOO, it solves your problem"
[12:14:09] <KGB-linuxcnc> 03Dewey Garrett 05joints_axes13 7422ddc 06linuxcnc 10(9 files in 4 dirs) 5axis sim config (bridge mill xyzbc) update for JA * 14http://git.linuxcnc.org/?p=linuxcnc.git;a=commitdiff;h=7422ddc
[16:27:49] <KGB-linuxcnc> 03Dewey Garrett 05joints_axes13 8889eb5 06linuxcnc 10(15 files in 5 dirs) new: xyzac-trt,xyzbc-trt kins + sim configs JA * 14http://git.linuxcnc.org/?p=linuxcnc.git;a=commitdiff;h=8889eb5
[17:58:04] <JT-Shop> what would you use a 7i90HD card for?
[17:58:17] <JT-Shop> and how would you connect the PC to it?
[18:00:52] <andypugh> 7i90 is a lot of IO for not a lot of money
[18:01:14] <andypugh> I think it works with the parport on a PC, and with SPI with an Odroid.
[18:01:41] <andypugh> Consider that it has the same IO compatibility as the 5i20, at 1/5 the price
[18:03:34] <JT-Shop> what's an Odroid?
[18:04:25] <andypugh> Some ARM thing: http://www.hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G138733896281
[18:05:27] <andypugh> I think Jepler had it working with the 7i90
[18:05:58] <andypugh> But for an x86 PC with a parport you would use the hm2_7i90 driver.
[18:06:30] <andypugh> Perhaps I am not understanding the question?
[18:06:51] <JT-Shop> no, your answers are what I was wondering about
[18:10:40] <JT-Shop> thanks
[18:19:15] <tinkerer> I need it for developing for a feasibility study and than maybe for higher objectives.
[18:22:26] <JT-Shop> I was just wondering what you were doing :)
[18:26:01] <tinkerer> moving gears ;)
[18:54:30] <tinkerer> JT-Shop: mail is arriving.... :)
[18:57:38] <tinkerer> but I'm off now
[20:00:55] <PCW> JT-Shop you can also use the 7I90 as a SSerial remote with 72 TTL level I/O (say to interface to 3 x Opto22 24 I/O module racks)
[20:03:48] <PCW> The 7I90 it has 4 firmware types:
[20:03:49] <PCW> EPP parelle port interface (like a 7I43) normal hostmot2
[20:03:51] <PCW> SPI (SPI hostmot2 )
[20:03:52] <PCW> SerHM2 hostmot2 over serial
[20:03:54] <PCW> SSerial remote
[20:39:16] <skunkworks> got a good handle on the matsuura - pulled the yasnac control and started unhooking stuff we won't be using
[20:40:04] <skunkworks> figured out the encoder cables and pinouts for the servo drive. The tach passed through the old control (just in and out)
[20:42:31] <skunkworks> zlog
[20:47:59] <skunkworks> I think the mesa equipment is going on the door
[21:08:30] <skunkworks> the encoder cables are pretty cool - each pair is shielded and the cable passes through a ground pad that grounds the shields all in one spot
[21:08:53] <skunkworks> very rubbery - like good welding cables
[21:10:39] <skunkworks> must have pulled 6 cables about 1/2 diameter - betweeen the control and the pendent. Few more to go but some might stay for future use
[21:15:01] <skunkworks> dad is like - 'network cable is going to be enough for i/o ;)
[21:15:14] <skunkworks> ?
[21:21:30] <skunkworks> pcw_home: the HP computer had a pretty major realtime delay before I left yesterday.
[21:21:42] <skunkworks> after running for a few hour
[21:21:44] <skunkworks> hours
[21:28:04] <KGB-linuxcnc> 03Dewey Garrett 05joints_axes13 8ff54aa 06linuxcnc 10docs/man/man9/kins.9 kins.9 include new xyzac-trt,xyzbc-trt kins JA * 14http://git.linuxcnc.org/?p=linuxcnc.git;a=commitdiff;h=8ff54aa
[21:33:02] <jepler> nice!
[22:36:25] <pcw_home> skunkworks: what hardware:
