[07:44:34] <skunkworks> logger[psha],
[07:44:34] <logger[psha]> skunkworks: Log stored at http://psha.org.ru/irc/%23linuxcnc-devel/2014-10-23.html
[09:06:10] <seb_kuzminsky> cradek: thanks for looking at #397
[09:06:18] <seb_kuzminsky> is it in axis or motion? (or both?)
[09:31:44] <seb_kuzminsky> why do i keep typing "--with-realspace=utime"?
[09:31:50] * seb_kuzminsky needs more coffee
[09:33:58] <cradek> all AXIS bugs as far as I can tell. motion doesn't really do units.
[09:58:40] <seb_kuzminsky> i wish we had a good way to test the GUIs

[10:47:24] <regiscruzbr> Hi everyone, can somebody help me with the E_STOP signal? Witch GPIO should I connect this signal on my BBB? Thanks...
[10:49:28] <jepler> regiscruzbr: this channel is for the development of the linuxcnc software. it's not for questions about configuring linuxcnc. also most bbb users are using machinekit, which is the product of a different group of people (it is a fork of linuxcnc)
[10:50:04] <regiscruzbr> Sorry, thanks.
[10:50:53] <jepler> but at least he asked his question instead of asking to ask

[16:15:36] <jthornton> it still have a zillion prolog and epilog in there and they seem to be part of remap so I'm not sure about correcting them.
[18:35:39] <brianmorel99> I have some kernel packages that I believe fix the bay trail usb issue if anyone wants to test. Not sure the best way to share as the image package is around 24mb.
[18:39:41] <linuxcnc-build> build #2550 of 1300.rip-precise-i386 is complete: Failure [4failed compile] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/1300.rip-precise-i386/builds/2550 blamelist: John Thornton <jthornton@gnipsel.com>
[18:39:57] <seb_kuzminsky> brianmorel99: that's wonderful
[18:40:05] <seb_kuzminsky> do you have a webserver you can host them from?
[18:40:07] <linuxcnc-build> build #2552 of 1306.rip-precise-amd64 is complete: Failure [4failed compile] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/1306.rip-precise-amd64/builds/2552 blamelist: John Thornton <jthornton@gnipsel.com>
[18:44:07] <brianmorel99> No, I don't have a server set up. I'm sure I can use google drive or dropbox if someone is interested.
[18:45:32] <brianmorel99> seb_kuzminsky: I have a simple pull for your linux-rtai-debain repository if it works, but it should probably be tested a little first.
[18:48:00] <seb_kuzminsky> brianmorel99: if you make your debs available somewhere and announce the url here, i bet someone with a problematic motherboard will test is soon
[18:48:15] <seb_kuzminsky> also if you send me a link to your branch i'll take a look at it
[18:48:51] <seb_kuzminsky> i hope your fix fixes the issue, that would be great
[18:49:22] <brianmorel99> https://github.com/brianmorel99/linux-rtai-debian
[18:50:19] <brianmorel99> Only two commits, latest was just to get a different package name so there isn't a conflict with the current package
[18:52:03] <jepler> Actually if we're going to ship this from linuxcnc.org then we want to ship it with the same abi name (so that the existing linuxcnc packages' kernel modules load in it) but a higher debian version number. I don't know offhand how that is achieved in this packaging setup.
[18:52:16] <jepler> aside from that, the details of the debian packaging changes look plausibly correct
[18:52:21] <jepler> I don't have hardware to test on
[18:52:38] <brianmorel99> 711b4da8d0e0c12cae6187c209701ae6e29f58ff was the commit that seemed to fix it. The two patches are part of the mainline kernel debian pulls in for their kernel. They just came in later than 3.4.55
[18:54:52] <jepler> I think skunkworks and maybe pcw were people affected by this problem
[18:54:52] <brianmorel99> I think I'm going to play around with memleak's rtai branch to see if it works for 64bit. Maybe I can help package that for testing.
[18:54:58] <jepler> thanks for your work on this btw
[18:56:02] <brianmorel99> No problem, glad I could contribute a little. My mill is almost ready to make some chips. Would be working on it now if I hadn't lost the limit switches I bought.
[18:56:11] <jepler> it's always something
[19:08:18] <brianmorel99> This should work: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B89AXLJss1M1dlBhbXNIT0lmQm8/view?usp=sharing
[19:09:13] <brianmorel99> Above is a link for the debian kernel image packages for testing Baytrail USB support
[19:11:08] <jepler> cool, if I see skunkworks I'll pass it along
[19:11:42] <linuxcnc-build> build #2560 of 0000.checkin is complete: Failure [4failed] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/0000.checkin/builds/2560 blamelist: John Thornton <jthornton@gnipsel.com>
[22:04:00] <skunkworks_> logger[psha]:
[22:04:00] <logger[psha]> skunkworks_: Log stored at http://psha.org.ru/irc/%23linuxcnc-devel/2014-10-24.html
[22:06:11] <skunkworks_> so - odd thing.. I think it has happened before too.. (actally think it happened when chris and jeff were over. This situation I was running the splash screen on the k&t just to test something. It said something like this program is goin
[22:07:23] <jepler> skunkworks_: not sticking around to talk, sorry. but brianmorel99 says he has kernel debs that might work with those boards that had the usb problem. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B89AXLJss1M1dlBhbXNIT0lmQm8/view?usp=sharing
[22:07:29] <jepler> but you probably saw that in the scrollback
[22:07:30] <jepler> 'night
[22:07:45] <jepler> "this program is goin"
[22:07:51] <skunkworks_> is going to violate machine limits or something like that. I said ok and it started running. I canceled out of it and did a G53G0X38Y36Z24. the axis's all went negative..
[22:07:58] <skunkworks_> jepler: night!
[22:08:20] <skunkworks_> I will see if I can get it to do it in sim
[22:10:34] <skunkworks_> on a side note. we still had an oscolation in the Y axis (a buzz really) at slow feeds. I had turned the gain of the amp down to see if it effected it. it didn't. So I turned it down some more. still no effect. Turned it down some more... and Z started oscillating.. Duh. turned the actual Y axis amp gain down 1 turn oscillation went away...
[22:15:11] <skunkworks_> needless to say - the amps are mounted X-Z-Y
[22:15:25] <skunkworks_> It is actually labelled..
