[00:49:28] <CaptHindsight> seb_kuzminsky: and that is using the old tech, since you can't legally print with anything that might infringe in the west

[09:22:45] <cradek> seb_kuzminsky: aside from which branch it should go in, I'm not sure I agree with the change itself. To me section 1 means things you can usefully invoke at the shell. The 1/9 distinction I think is important is not whether it loads into the *kernel*, but whether it's a program (probably in /usr/bin) you can launch vs. a thing that gets loaded in a special way as part of another thing.
[09:24:22] <cradek> in other words, the way you use and interact with userland comps is exactly the same as with realtime comps
[09:25:36] <cradek> seb_kuzminsky: what is that neat little table?
[09:26:07] <cradek> I guess it's trivkins
[09:26:26] <cradek> it sure gets up to full speed on the penguin belly
[09:26:46] <cradek> oops I meant skunkworks_: above
[09:36:50] <seb_kuzminsky> hmm
[09:41:44] <seb_kuzminsky> cradek: there are a bunch of things we currently put in man1 that belong in man9 under that definition (gs2, hal_input, halui, iocontrol, pyvcp, and shuttlexpress)
[09:44:04] <cradek> I think those don't belong in man1 either
[09:44:52] <cradek> (I miss andy)
[09:45:21] <seb_kuzminsky> i can see your point....
[09:46:31] <seb_kuzminsky> (and i hope andy's having fun with his Ner-a-Car)
[09:47:58] <cradek> his blog photos are great
[09:49:04] <cradek> knowing the grease gun trick probably would've saved a dirt bike, in about 1987
[09:49:27] <cradek> instead, we tried hammers of all sizes
[09:51:09] <cradek> hammers do not work for that
[10:21:22] <skunkworks_> cradek: it is a terco trainer from a school.. early 80's I think. the original control says 20ipm max
[10:35:50] <cradek> it looks fast
[10:37:47] <seb_kuzminsky> it's weird seeing z upside down

[10:49:04] <skunkworks_> heh - it is like a little knee mill
[10:51:35] <skunkworks_> it could do a litte faster.. it doesn't have ball screws yet.. :)
