12:00 AM rue_mohr: I use this circuit for my small relays and lights
12:15 AM rue_mohr: this circuit can be made the size of a paperclip to light an LED
12:15 AM rue_mohr: do you understand the circuit?
12:15 AM VanUnamed: yes yes
12:15 AM rue_mohr: ok, thankyou for letting me show it to you :]
12:31 AM rue_mohr: aha!
12:31 AM rue_mohr: here is the one I made last year

12:48 AM rue_mohr: VanUnamed, thoughts?
05:09 AM VanUnamed: nice idea, rue_mohr
07:05 AM aandrew: I remember doing something similar for a heat pump triac driver. Xc is wild
07:06 AM aandrew: needed a few mA for a PIC12 to drive a triac so I used a similar idea and "hung" a 78L05 off the ~150VDC rail to create 5V that was relative to the +v rather than 5V above the return
07:07 AM aandrew: if memory serves (it usually doesn't) I was firing the triac in quadrant 4
07:45 AM rue_mohr: :]
