03:32 AM rue_mohr: Rue, power supply.

02:13 PM rue_mohr: heh, too tiny!
02:14 PM rue_mohr: heh, arm, not risc 5
02:14 PM rue_mohr: there is a battle going on
02:14 PM rue_mohr: I think risc5 is going to win tho
04:01 PM rue_shop2: so, I have to reduce the power supply project I want to do
04:02 PM rue_shop2: its getting too deep
04:02 PM rue_shop2: right now, I want a converter to take 24V and give me 5V, and I want to do that by getting 8V and linear regulating it down to 5
04:02 PM rue_shop2: so, I need 24V to 8V
04:02 PM rue_shop2: and I want to use a pushpull converter
04:02 PM rue_shop2: I have a HUGE battery bank, so extra current draw isn't much of an issue
04:03 PM rue_shop2: if I use a single winding with a series cap to do the pushpull, I get +-12V across the primary
04:04 PM rue_shop2: which ahs the advantage that I can have to osc off from 50% and the series cap will just eat it
04:04 PM rue_shop2: oh, but I should look into that more cause I think it changes the ac amplitude across the secondary
04:04 PM rue_shop2: anyhow
04:04 PM rue_shop2: 24V to 8V
04:04 PM rue_shop2: so /3
04:05 PM rue_shop2: the series cap driver does /2 with a 1:1 transformer
04:05 PM rue_shop2: or do I get /4 when if I bridge rectify the output
04:05 PM rue_shop2: then I'm just two coils
04:05 PM rue_shop2: technically, I dont even need this to be isolated,
04:06 PM rue_shop2: I dont trust the china modules with 24V
04:06 PM rue_shop2: they tend to catch fire
04:06 PM rue_shop2: ok lets see what I get, I have some 5mH linked inductors
