12:05 PM rue_mohr: ok, I'm going to make a 28" loader bucket for a disability chair today
12:21 PM rue_mohr: no idea how to run the motors yet
02:45 PM rifraf: you wouldnt believe how many wheels, motors, frames etc i see getting scrapped now
02:51 PM rifraf: looks like all the cool multimeters have thermal imaging camera now?
05:43 PM rue_mohr: :]

05:44 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1340406.jpg
05:45 PM rue_mohr: it came out good and went togethor faster than I expexted
05:45 PM rue_mohr: the paint just make it not look like a bunch of scrap metal welded together
05:46 PM rue_mohr: its mostly that electrical disconnect switch, there is some bedframe and a thick strip of steel for the blade
05:47 PM rue_mohr: I oopsed a bit with the blade, it should have been wider than the bucket
05:47 PM rue_mohr: by the time I realized it was too far done
05:47 PM rue_mohr: use it, wear it out, then fix it
05:47 PM rue_mohr: if I never finish the project there is no point in going back for the adustment now
05:48 PM rue_mohr: mmm
05:48 PM rue_mohr: I need to work out a system for synchronizing motors
05:58 PM Tom_L: nice one
06:03 PM rue_mohr: sorta desire a cleanup bucket for doing the basement digging
06:03 PM rue_mohr: I need to try to find a breakdown of that crazy bobcat linkage and see if I should use it, or just make something else
06:28 PM rue_mohr: ... that if
06:28 PM rue_mohr: instead of remote control, I used a servo system
06:28 PM rue_mohr: hmm, how would that work
06:31 PM rue_mohr: or
06:31 PM rue_mohr: "typically use the left joystick for movement (forward, backward, and turning) and the right joystick for lift and tilt functions (raising/lowering the boom, and dumping/scooping the bucket)"
06:31 PM rue_mohr: but I dont think thats right is it? I'm sure that forward/back on each stick is the skidsteer control and left-right is the boom/bucket controls

06:34 PM rue_mohr: hmmm

06:36 PM rue_mohr: meh, ok
06:36 PM rue_mohr: says iso
06:37 PM rue_mohr: one thing to know with a skidsteer is that using the wrong movement to dump the bucket will fill the cab with whatever your moving
06:37 PM rue_mohr: did it about 5 times
06:37 PM rue_mohr: I'm sure the contractors weren't too impressed with me on that one
10:38 PM aandrew: rifraf> whats a good solvent to add to water for ultrasonic cleaning? tried dishwashing liquid, now trying some degreaser
10:39 PM aandrew: I use Bronson EC, 4L jug lasts me forever
10:41 PM aandrew: not sure that's useful information given you're not using it to clean circuit boards
