04:26 AM rue_mohr: one of the cats is not well, behaving like its got severe cramps
04:44 AM rue_mohr: :S
04:44 AM rue_mohr: and I just put 1+1 together and realized he's not really been eating much the past 3 days
08:41 AM polprog: ordered 10x w27c512
11:17 AM rue_mohr: anything down to 64k would do...
11:17 AM rue_mohr: nothing in e-waste?
11:44 AM polprog: nope
11:45 AM polprog: drat, i have to fix a timer, i dont have a button like that
11:47 AM polprog: i opened the serial port server
11:48 AM polprog: there is an 8051 inside
11:48 AM polprog: atlem 80c32 + some realtek phy
11:48 AM polprog: atmel*
11:48 AM polprog: socketed flash
11:48 AM polprog: maybe ill dump it later
11:48 AM polprog: bbl
12:41 PM rue_mohr: button like that?
12:42 PM rue_mohr: an ethernet timer?
01:39 PM polprog: sorry, i had to run do something
01:39 PM polprog: no, two separate things
01:39 PM polprog: let me figure out how to transfer an image from my phone to windows to my server...
01:52 PM polprog: ok got it
01:52 PM rue_mohr: heh
01:52 PM polprog: zmodem does not like to run inside gnu screen
01:52 PM rue_mohr: email it :]
01:52 PM polprog: i should install winscp here
01:52 PM polprog: i dont know your email :)
01:53 PM rue_mohr: to yourself, to the PC
01:53 PM polprog: oh right
01:53 PM polprog: where is the fun in that tho
01:53 PM rue_mohr: or just post right to imugr
01:53 PM polprog: https://polprog.net/rozne1/ircjunk/various/timer.jpg
01:53 PM polprog: so this is the timer. the top button is not buttoning
01:54 PM polprog: all buttons like that that i have are sideways
01:54 PM rue_mohr: ok
01:54 PM polprog: ill have to buy one on tuesday
01:54 PM polprog: and the serial port server
01:54 PM polprog: https://polprog.net/rozne1/ircjunk/various/serial_server.jpg
01:54 PM rue_mohr: you have NO ewaste?
01:54 PM polprog: i have ewaster
01:54 PM polprog: its down at the basement
01:54 PM rue_mohr: everything uses those buttons
01:54 PM rue_mohr: everything
01:54 PM polprog: iirc there was something that has a button like that
01:55 PM polprog: ill go look for it tomorrow
01:55 PM polprog: the timer is nice. i got two of them
01:55 PM rue_mohr: and its just a dead button?
01:55 PM polprog: runs from 230VAC, relay NO/NC output
01:55 PM polprog: YES!
01:55 PM rue_mohr: odd
01:55 PM polprog: the most important buttton
01:55 PM polprog: for manual start
01:55 PM polprog: and for setting up the menu
01:55 PM polprog: it has 3 buttons and all 3 are important
01:56 PM rue_mohr: everything uses those buttons
01:56 PM polprog: the timer has a function where it chirps or beeps when the time is over, so ill use it to replace the broken stove timer
01:56 PM polprog: i know right?
01:56 PM polprog: ill go downstairs tomorrow to get the button source
01:57 PM polprog: the serial port server is neat
01:57 PM rue_mohr: I mean, if you stand infront of your house, and look up and down the street, some article of ewaste left somewhere has that button
01:57 PM polprog: you telnet into it and it sends that over serial
01:57 PM polprog: port 23 is config, 6001 is the data
01:58 PM rue_mohr: oh cool
01:58 PM polprog: yeah ill use it with the agilnet psu
01:59 PM rue_mohr: I wonder how much of the work is done by the realtek chip
01:59 PM rue_mohr: maybe the connection from the 8051 is just a serial console
02:00 PM polprog: no, the realtek is just the nic
02:00 PM rue_mohr: not a smart one?
02:00 PM polprog: 8051 handles the tcp stack, i think
02:00 PM polprog: ill have to take the label off but it looks like the stuff thats on ISA cards
02:00 PM rue_mohr: sometimes those network chips are REALLY capable
02:00 PM polprog: well yeah
02:00 PM polprog: hmmmm
02:04 PM polprog: RTL8019
02:17 PM polprog: http://www.ethernut.de/pdf/8019asds.pdf
02:17 PM polprog: NE2000 support
03:05 PM rue_mohr: yea thats not a super smart one
03:06 PM rue_mohr: but I think theres arduino support
03:12 PM polprog: indeed
04:41 PM polprog: i found a button
04:41 PM polprog: and fixed the timer
05:36 PM rue_mohr: yay!
05:37 PM rue_mohr: what was the button from?
05:37 PM rue_mohr: OH NO DONT USE ONE FROM THAT!
05:37 PM rue_mohr: oops, hit enter too quick
05:45 PM polprog: from what?
05:45 PM polprog: i found a bag of parts
05:56 PM Tom_L: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxA7VHYuYu8
05:56 PM Tom_L: old tech
06:22 PM rue_shop2: ah yes, did you see the 3d printed one I made?
06:24 PM Tom_L: no
06:25 PM rue_shop2: oh
06:25 PM rue_shop2: I'll find the photos
06:25 PM rue_shop2: I was just using it as a resolver
06:25 PM rue_shop2: I did a brushless armature
06:25 PM rue_shop2: so the signal back out of it was pretty weak, air core and all
