Now it won't even do that(after adding the TVS), it fired once and has clamped the two parallel mosfets shut

04:34 PM miss0r: I decided the issue must be the inductance spike escaping the snupper circuit, so I added the TVS across the mosfets. Then I gave it a full discharge of the caps, and killed the mosfets :S
