11:08 AM lcnc-relay: <off7788@> almost tomorrow here😆
11:53 AM rdtsc: hmm, might have accidentally created a pull request JT, mis-click when updating the repo
01:32 PM JT-Shop: ok hotel booked for the mrs birthday
01:33 PM xxcoder: hope you guys have very nice day
01:39 PM JT-Shop: going to the St. Louis zoo and botanical garden
01:39 PM xxcoder: nice
01:39 PM JT-Shop: never been to either one
02:31 PM JT-Shop: pretty quiet in here today
02:43 PM Tom_Cell: headin back from KC
02:45 PM Tom_Cell: gettin another rpi5 tomorrow
02:45 PM Tom_Cell: being a passenger is costly
02:49 PM Tom_Cell: check in later...
03:11 PM JT-Shop: roguish do you use jagwire shift cables?
04:02 PM Tom_L: aparently debian 13 is out?
04:02 PM Tom_L: 'trixie'
04:03 PM xxcoder: seems so. I saw that "ad"
04:08 PM JT-Shop: I "think" I fingered out a simple way to move the bandsaw except for I have to lift it up to put the bolt through the hole...
04:36 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Shop: I have... they're good
04:36 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> well, up to 98 now
04:37 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> guess i'm not riding today. been CADing since 8:00
04:37 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> wopped
04:37 PM xxcoder: oh boy. brain tired eh?
04:37 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> yup
04:41 PM JT-Shop: ok, I need to change the rear shifter cable and outer housing
04:43 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> had a nice long ride yesterday. done around noon so not baking, just hot. got a fricking flat while going down a hill. lucky it was a straight section, and I was going sorta slow. rear tire blow out.
04:44 PM Tom_L: 98F feels like 105F
04:44 PM JT-Shop: that scares the crap out of me to get a blow out... a slow leak is ok
04:44 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> me too
04:44 PM JT-Shop: I've never had a flat on the road bike but plenty on the mountain bike
04:45 PM Tom_L: better than the front
04:45 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> good thing it was in the back, not the front..... front blowouts can cause ugly slide outs
04:45 PM JT-Shop: yup
04:45 PM JT-Shop: I had a counter shaft sprocket bolt back out on my kz1000 doing about 80 or so and it locked up the rear tire
04:46 PM JT-Shop: I kept it upright but wore a bit off my shoes doing so
04:46 PM JT-Shop: the worst part is I was on a interstate and I didn't have the tool I needed to get the cover off
04:49 PM JT-Shop: a guy in a truck picked me and the bike up and dropped me and the bike off at walmart
04:49 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> lucky youo
04:49 PM JT-Shop: yp
04:49 PM JT-Shop: yup
04:50 PM Tom_L: i snapped a pedal off up a hill once and rode with one the rest of the way home
04:51 PM JT-Shop: I broke the seat post on my road bike just as I got to town and rode back standing up
04:51 PM Tom_L: that's awkward
04:52 PM JT-Shop: only having one pedal would be a challenge for sure
04:52 PM JT-Shop: when it broke I thought wtf
04:53 PM Tom_L: i forgot where i left off.. was there more testing to be done?
04:53 PM xxcoder: lol reminds me of that fun misadventure when I was young. I was riding down the steep hill when my front brake broke off, it whipped around and almost hit my head, and it went around and nearly got between slats in front wheel
04:53 PM xxcoder: I had to use shoes to slow down bicycle
04:53 PM Tom_L: oh... i wanna try a write verify but need to back up the firmware first
04:53 PM JT-Shop: ok
04:54 PM JT-Shop: no rear brake?
04:54 PM xxcoder: nah was bought very cheap used
04:54 PM Tom_L: i did a verify but hadn't written anything but i didn't get a verify error either
04:54 PM xxcoder: I later fixed it to have both
04:54 PM Tom_L: against a random bit file
04:54 PM Tom_L: it should have failed
04:55 PM Tom_L: but i didn't check with mesaflash first either before trying under mesact
04:55 PM JT-Shop: I don't think verify even works for spi yet
04:55 PM Tom_L: what makes you think that?
04:55 PM Tom_L: i haven't tried yet
04:55 PM JT-Shop: iirc all mesaflash functions check for pci, eth
04:56 PM JT-Shop: in mesact
04:56 PM Tom_L: oh you mean in mesact
04:56 PM Tom_L: not mesaflash
04:56 PM JT-Shop: yup
04:56 PM Tom_L: ok
04:56 PM Tom_L: should be next on the list then
04:56 PM JT-Shop: yup
04:57 PM Tom_L: i'll try one with mesaflash and see if it errors... it should
04:57 PM Tom_L: until i back it up
04:57 PM Tom_L: i'll use one i know is different
04:58 PM JT-Shop: turns out the drury we are staying at for the mrs birthday is about 8 blocks from the hill and the zoo
04:58 PM Tom_L: cool
04:59 PM JT-Shop: should be a fun weekend
04:59 PM Tom_L: we've got a very good zoo here
04:59 PM Tom_L: take the kids quite often
04:59 PM Tom_L: one of the best breeding programs i think
04:59 PM JT-Shop: we have never been but it's in the top 10
05:00 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> if ya ever get out to San Diego, the zoo there is one of the best in the world
05:01 PM Tom_L: i think ours is noted for the breeding program, maybe not popularity
05:02 PM Tom_L: just had some baby elephants recently
05:02 PM xxcoder: zoo here is ok, not best. last time I went, I could see how flipping boring eleplants is
05:02 PM xxcoder: so I dont really like it
05:03 PM xxcoder: theyre better than horrible zoo in history, but not amazing too
05:04 PM Tom_L: you go at the right times of day (during feeding etc) most of the animals are alot more active
05:05 PM xxcoder: if I recall it was during bit after noon
05:05 PM Tom_L: usually early moring is better
05:05 PM xxcoder: its not just boredom, its the boring rooms and envorment for them
05:05 PM Tom_L: yeah they made a huge area for ours
05:06 PM xxcoder: animals seemed well taken care of, which is something in least
05:15 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> frak..... too hot to even go out for a walk
05:17 PM JT-Shop: https://www.amazon.com/Jagwire-Shift-Mountain-Shimano-Black/dp/B07PQSN7PB?
05:18 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> that's good
05:19 PM JT-Shop: ok, going to order that for the rear derailleur
05:44 PM Tom_L: it's flippin hot out!
05:44 PM Tom_L: went out for just a bit but i'm done
05:45 PM xxcoder: today is supposed to be very hot, but its not too bad. mid 80s f
05:46 PM JT-Shop: 90f hi 96f
05:49 PM Tom_L: i may fiddle with write verify a bit this evening

05:55 PM JT-Shop: pepperoni, bacon and sausage
05:55 PM JT-Shop: sugar them up and send them home
05:55 PM Tom_L: that's the plan
05:55 PM Tom_L: along with some caffine
05:56 PM JT-Shop: caffeine an sugar for the kids?
05:56 PM Tom_L: probably not tonite
05:57 PM Tom_L: only on days they trade custody ;)
05:57 PM JT-Shop: lol
05:58 PM Tom_L: he's been deployed for a year anyway so they won't be doing any trades for a while
05:58 PM Tom_L: i think he got into some trouble
05:58 PM JT-Shop: ouch
05:58 PM Tom_L: i heard he was demoted 2 ranks and deployed
05:58 PM JT-Shop: that's not good
05:58 PM Tom_L: not for him
05:59 PM JT-Shop: got a problem ship him out
05:59 PM Tom_L: anyway.. time to eat
