04:16 AM Tom_L: morning
04:20 AM Tom_L: Tstorm phone alerts woke me up this morning
05:22 AM JT-Cave: morning
05:26 AM JT-Cave: getting hot here
07:06 AM rdtsc-w: morning, and ditto except the tstorms - maybe tonight
07:29 AM Tom_itx is now known as Tom_L
07:29 AM Tom_L: i think i'll ask pcw to build this spi bit for me. i built one last night but it's been a long time and i don't wanna get it wrong
07:30 AM Tom_L: i _think_ it's ok but...
07:31 AM rdtsc-w: the 7i90HD doesn't already have a SPI bitfile?
07:32 AM Tom_L: not for my mill
07:32 AM Tom_L: i made a custom one
07:32 AM Tom_L: i suppose i could find one to test with
07:32 AM Tom_L: the pinout wouldn't be critical for the connect test
07:34 AM rdtsc-w: oh that's right, you have the "linear supply" motors :)
07:36 AM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/Rpi5/Weather.jpg
07:36 AM Tom_L: thought that was a bit intimidating :)
07:38 AM Tom_L: that kinda makes sense though. i just don't know if he compiled any using the spi interface
07:39 AM Tom_L: i wasn't planning to hook it to the mill anyway. i have spare boards
07:46 AM Tom_L: yeah i may just do that. i found a bunch marked for spi
07:47 AM Tom_L: and i have a bit file to move it back to epp
08:14 AM Tom_L: rdtsc-w, you're using spi0 on yours right?
08:31 AM rdtsc-w: yes - they say it is possible to use a different SPI but think everyone just uses SPI0
08:32 AM Tom_L: something like spi0.0 right?
08:32 AM Tom_L: i saw 0.0, 0.1 and 10.0 iirc
08:33 AM Tom_L: or something like that ...
08:35 AM rdtsc-w: spi0.0 is the default and almost universally-used
08:35 AM rdtsc-w: make sure /boot/broadcom/config.txt has it enabled :)
08:36 AM Tom_L: yeah
08:36 AM Tom_L: do i need to do anything with the spi cs0 cs1 pins?
08:36 AM Tom_L: i have the same spi cable i used on the rpi4
08:38 AM rdtsc-w: https://www.mesanet.com/pdf/parallel/7c80man.pdf shows host connector on page 6, uses only pins 19, 21, 23 for spi
08:39 AM Tom_L: i'll check the cable but i think it should be ok
08:39 AM rdtsc-w: keep in mind those pins can have MHz-range signals on them
08:40 AM rdtsc-w: well don't forget digial ground too :)
08:40 AM Tom_L: i've done spi before
08:41 AM Tom_L: i made up a cable when i tested on the rpi4 but it's been a while and good to check again
09:42 AM C3-Shop: hmm dunno where to start to orginize the shop
09:47 AM Tom_L: turning into a wood/auto shop?
09:50 AM JT-Shop: getting rid of stuff I don't use any more and trying to figure out the layout for the wood working stuff and I want to move my tool boxes from the garage to the big shop
10:05 AM Tom_L: rain gage showed 3" when i emptied it a while ago and it's still raining
10:08 AM * JT-Shop heads to town
10:18 AM rdtsc-w: lets hope you don't flood again Tom
10:25 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> so, remember that problem I had not being able to connect a widget to my custom callback? the problem was between the keyboard and chair. I was clicking the wrong button in the UI, I had connected it to a different one. Had too much blood in my coffee stream I think. 😄
10:26 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> sorry for sending you down that rabbit hole!
10:30 AM Tom_L: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/looneytunes/images/a/ad/Bugs-elmer.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140606100340
10:36 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> good morning
10:37 AM Tom_L: a rather wet one
10:39 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> dry, and hot here today.
10:40 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> @Tom_L more like
10:40 AM lcnc-relay: https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/shooter-revolver-sketch-vector-illustration-absurd-revolver-curved-barrel-pointing-back-sketch-engraving-vector-182046636.jpg
10:46 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> voiditswarranty@: POTUS needs one of those...
11:48 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> ok, ride time, before it gets to warm..... bb.
12:10 PM rdtsc-w: 7% chance of rain this morning, and it's rained over an inch already
12:46 PM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> hmm, I'm confused by the flex documentation. Touch-off buttons require a double spin box named touchoff_dsb, but I can't find that name referenced in the code on current master anywhere. I found lots of code referencing the other documented control touchoff_le in current . Which is correct? a dsb would be handy...
12:50 PM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> oh, a dyamic property of "source" to select the dsb works. cool
01:11 PM JT-Mobile: Glad you figured it out
01:16 PM JT-Mobile: I think there's an error in the controls doc that's covered better in the coordinates doc
02:02 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Mobile: check it out.......... https://www.engadget.com/transportation/meet-the-corvette-zr1x-americas-1250-horsepower-hybrid-hypercar-140018897.html?guccounter=1
02:11 PM JT-Cave: void it looks like at one time touchoff_dsb was valid then I changed to a line edit
02:11 PM JT-Cave: roguish, yup seen that
02:12 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> think I saw it is $175k
02:26 PM JT-Shop: the dealers don't even have the ZR1 pricing yet, I asked the other day
02:26 PM JT-Shop: so mostly speculation until that happens
02:27 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> I saw the pricing somewhere, now can't find it again.... doh
02:27 PM JT-Shop: I doubt it's authentic
02:28 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> while riding yesterday, a Hummer truck passed me
02:28 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> didn't even know Hummer made trucks...
02:30 PM JT-Shop: I've never seen one here
02:30 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> I think i've seen some Hummer EVs too
02:34 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> here it is, the pricing... https://www.popsci.com/technology/2025-chevrolet-corvette-zr1/
02:37 PM JT-Shop: yeah that's not an official price, like I said dealers still don't know the MSRP on the ZR1
02:37 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> ok, but it's probably at least that much....if not lots more
02:39 PM JT-Shop: it's probably a close guess
02:40 PM JT-Shop: the corvette guy said pricing for the ZR1 should show up on his order desk in about a month
02:42 PM JT-Shop: cup 2 r tires are nuts
05:12 PM JT-Shop: just got the email from Chevorlet announcing the ZR1X
05:18 PM Tom_L: place an order?
05:18 PM Tom_L: does Mo have any roads straight enough for it?
05:20 PM JT-Shop: not that I know of...
