05:35 AM Tom_L: morning
05:36 AM Tom_L: more rain
05:58 AM JT-Cave: morning
09:50 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> good morning....... slight overcast. will burn off. forecast mid 70's
10:43 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Cave: good morning.. hey, in flex, do the keyboard arrow keys work in jogging? like in axis.... and page up/down..
11:01 AM Tom_L: roguish, i don't think so
11:01 AM Tom_L: it may be possible to assign them in the UI but not by default
01:16 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> https://paste.debian.net/1376728/ latest flex from apt
01:18 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> flex 1.2.1, lcnc 2.9.3
01:19 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> should i update lcnc to 2.9.4?
01:19 PM Tom_L: not necessarily
01:20 PM Tom_L: i don't think you gain enough unless you need a feature
01:20 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> ok, but the error?
01:20 PM Tom_L: that's a jt question
01:20 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> and he is napping...
01:21 PM Tom_L: he's probably making room for his lift
01:22 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> well, it is hot as balls in this shop, i am going back inside i guess...
01:34 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> Tom_L: i just added an 'issue' about the keyboard arrow keys...
01:37 PM Tom_L: roguish, i'm not entirely sure that's possible since the arrows also control some of the widget behavior like tabs etc
01:37 PM Tom_L: the behavior may be contained within a given widget, i dunno
01:38 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> he's the code head
01:38 PM Tom_L: i tried using < > on my example and all it did was move to the next / previous tab
01:39 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> should be pretty easy to add. it's in qtdragon, and probebasic, and they're both qtvcp
01:39 PM Tom_L: it may end up being widget specific
01:39 PM Tom_L: ie the gcode screen for example
01:40 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> so far this month, I have 384 ride miles.
01:40 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> i have 3
01:40 PM Tom_L: more than me :)
01:41 PM Tom_L: roguish, how's your gui coming along?
01:41 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> slowly
01:41 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> not in a hurry
01:49 PM Tom_L: roguish, take a look at the rpi_mill_3.ui
01:49 PM Tom_L: i mapped a handfull of function keys to buttons in it
01:49 PM Tom_L: that might be an answer
01:50 PM Tom_L: in the action editor
02:04 PM Tom_dev: https://forum.qt.io/topic/141424/pyqt6-creating-keyboard-shortcuts
02:04 PM Tom_dev: https://doc.qt.io/qtcreator/creator-keyboard-shortcuts.html
02:04 PM Tom_dev: ignore that one
02:07 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/button_hotkey-2025-05-26_13.55.36.mkv
02:08 PM Tom_L: easy as pie
02:12 PM Tom_L: just activate that shortcut box and press the key you want
02:18 PM Tom_L: or key combinations
02:18 PM Tom_L: ctrl-key alt-key etc
02:20 PM Tom_L: for those you hold both keys and the combination will show in the shortcut box
02:28 PM Tom_L: as far as a 'default feature' that might be difficult since you drag the buttons then assign them a name etc. that would be where you also assign the shortcut key
02:29 PM * C3-Shop is glad Tom_L is on duty
02:30 PM Tom_L: hah
02:30 PM Tom_L: get the lift move in out of the rain yet?
02:31 PM Tom_L: C3-Shop, trevor did have an error with the apt install process
02:31 PM Tom_L: sry, travis
02:33 PM Tom_L: https://paste.debian.net/1376728/
02:33 PM Tom_L: that's a 'you' problem :)
02:38 PM C3-Shop: ok
02:38 PM C3-Shop: the lift has landed
02:38 PM C3-Shop: time for a break
02:48 PM JT-Cave: you can test that fix https://gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/flexgui/ini.html#file-extensions
02:55 PM * JT-Shop takes 5 with Steve
03:09 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> yeah, me thinks my INI was lined up with a very old flex version, with a few changes made since then (v1.0.1 i think). so i am running through the changes and will try again tomorrow, when it is cooler in the shop. currently 97F, even though it is only 73F outside.

04:00 PM Tom_L: table find a new zipcode?
04:00 PM JT-Shop: not yet but it gets free delivery
04:01 PM JT-Shop: when I get tired of it sitting on the trailer it goes to the scrap yard
04:03 PM Tom_L: wish i had room and a way to unload it..
04:03 PM Tom_L: but have neither
04:03 PM Tom_L: i do have a small 1/2" plate table
04:04 PM Tom_L: the mill is sitting on it atm
04:04 PM JT-Shop: the tables came in handy when I was building equipment but don't need them now
04:04 PM JT-Shop: couple of trees and chain falls...
04:08 PM JT-Shop: I think I used the backhoe to unload the table when I brought it home
