05:02 AM JT-Cave: morning
07:13 AM Tom_L: morning
07:22 AM Tom_L: lots o rain & t-storms overnite
07:33 AM JT-Cave: 90% chance of rain here but not raining atm
07:37 AM JT-Cave: one more thing to do with colors is to improve error checking...
07:49 AM Tom_L: i may have a couple more subs to improve. goin back thru them after sitting a while
07:49 AM Tom_L: the drill ops etc i think are good
07:50 AM Tom_L: let up for a bit but expect rain all morning
07:55 AM JT-Cave: rain and t storms here now
08:01 AM JT-Cave: https://gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/flexgui/ini.html#colors
08:01 AM JT-Cave: there you go
08:04 AM Tom_L: heh cool
08:04 AM Tom_L: i'll check them after bit
08:11 AM Tom_L: estop & power color don't take effect until estop has been pressed once
08:12 AM Tom_L: then they go to red after disabling estop
08:14 AM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/estop_color1.png
08:14 AM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/estop_color2.png
08:14 AM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/estop_color3.png
08:16 AM Tom_L: after estop is pressed again, probe enable stays green
08:16 AM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/estop_color4.png
08:16 AM Tom_L: and pressed
08:18 AM Tom_L: same with pressing power
08:18 AM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/estop_color5.png
08:19 AM Tom_L: leds are correct
08:21 AM Tom_L: PR #308 for deb
08:22 AM Tom_L: tp3 example behaves the same way
08:23 AM JT-Shop: hmm must have forgot to do startup for the colors
08:24 AM Tom_L: that and tp enable doesn't change or 'depress'
08:24 AM Tom_L: the led does
08:25 AM Tom_L: buckets o rain
08:33 AM JT-Cave: just estop and power don't have the correct color at startup?
08:36 AM JT-Cave: should be fixed
08:50 AM JT-Shop: tp enable?
10:38 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> good morning......
11:17 AM Tom_L: JT-Shop, probe enable button color and depress remain when you push estop. the led changes to red as it should
11:17 AM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/Probe_enable1.png
11:18 AM Tom_L: the rest looks good
11:20 AM Tom_L: also, before estop is enabled, power on and homed i can press Probe enable button now and it activates and throws a spindle error
11:20 AM Tom_L: that's new
11:21 AM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/Probe_enaable2.png
11:37 AM rdtsc: very weird... since reloading (the same .iso) to the rpi5, have been experiencing this 8-year-old, unresolved bug with wget: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?51181
11:53 AM rdtsc: also, echo statements in .bashrc have begun appearing in a new terminal window which opens as the desktop opens - never done that before either
11:55 AM xxcoder: wow thats weird
12:12 PM JT-Cave: damn the lg fridge quit working
12:13 PM Tom_L: that sucks
12:17 PM Tom_L: hope you caught it early on to avoid spoilage
12:45 PM JT-Shop: Tom_L, I probably need to move a few things around for startup
12:45 PM Tom_L: ok
12:47 PM JT-Shop: I used to do some stuff when I was running a sim and just loading flex
12:47 PM JT-Shop: and it seems I missed a few items
12:49 PM Tom_L: took me 2x longer than it should have to fix that probe routine since i'd not looked at them in a while
01:12 PM JT-Cave: Tom_L, startup for items that monitor estop should be fixed now
01:21 PM Tom_L: ok
01:26 PM Tom_L: that part works now
01:26 PM Tom_L: probe enable is still green and depressed when disabled though
01:26 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/estop_color6.png
01:27 PM Tom_L: estop, power, home, probe enable... then estop and probe enable stays green and depressed
01:27 PM Tom_L: but the led turns red
01:27 PM JT-Shop: OK
01:28 PM JT-Shop: closer :)
01:28 PM Tom_L: it his however disabled
01:28 PM Tom_L: just doesn't tell us so
03:21 PM JT-Cave: that should be fixed but I discovered a bug with open file in the ini...
03:24 PM JT-Cave: and that is fixed as well now
04:11 PM Tom_L: need to hit probe enable 2x to get the logic back in sync but it's much better
04:11 PM JT-Shop: hmm
04:12 PM Tom_L: one sec and i'll be more specific
04:12 PM JT-Shop: ok
04:13 PM Tom_L: i'll do a short clip
04:15 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/probe_enable_sequence-2025-05-25_16.03.54.mkv
04:16 PM Tom_L: same with estop or power
04:17 PM Tom_L: probe enable button stays depressed
04:17 PM JT-Shop: ok, it looks like it enables then disables the first click
04:18 PM Tom_L: it's real close
04:22 PM Tom_L: it looks like it resets the probe enable button but doesn't release the depressed state
04:24 PM Tom_L: when you press estop and power to restore things, the text color changes on probe enable but the button stayed depressed
04:26 PM Tom_L: the rest of the logic looks like it's working ok
04:26 PM JT-Shop: looks like when you turn power back on it enables the probe button so the text changes color
04:27 PM Tom_L: also, i am unable to open a file now
04:27 PM JT-Shop: using what method
04:27 PM Tom_L: menu or button
04:27 PM JT-Shop: ok
04:28 PM Tom_L: 'open'
04:28 PM JT-Shop: what happens?
04:28 PM Tom_L: it gives me a blank stare :)
04:28 PM JT-Shop: lol
04:28 PM Tom_L: wait...
04:28 PM Tom_L: it may be part of the other issue
04:29 PM Tom_dev: tired of going back and forth..
04:29 PM Tom_dev: fresh start of lcnc, file open is ok
04:29 PM Tom_dev: button and menu
04:30 PM JT-Shop: hmm
04:30 PM Tom_dev: once i go thru the estop power probe enable sequence it doesn't work
04:30 PM Tom_dev: lemme try to isolate it
04:30 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> when one bug is squashed, another 3 take it's place 😉
04:31 PM xxcoder: so, its like cockroacues
04:31 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> lol
04:31 PM xxcoder: if you find one, theres 100 somewhere nearby
04:31 PM Tom_dev: ok, estop, power, probe enable... no file open available
04:32 PM Tom_dev: even before disabling estop
04:32 PM Tom_dev: just estop, power, home, probe enable --> no file open
04:32 PM Tom_dev: file -> recent works
04:34 PM Tom_dev: you wouldn't think those could be related
04:34 PM Tom_dev: estop, power, home all --> file open still works
04:35 PM Tom_dev: estop, power, home all probe enable --> file open does not
04:40 PM JT-Shop: file open should not work when probe is enabled
04:40 PM JT-Shop: most things don't work when probe is enabled
04:46 PM Tom_dev: you're right... i remember that now
04:46 PM Tom_dev: disabling probe enable lets it resume working as it should
04:48 PM JT-Shop: cleaned the coil as best as I could as it was covered with lint so we'll see if the lg comes back to life
04:48 PM JT-Shop: amazing the sears fridge that's 38 years old still works fine
04:49 PM Tom_L: yep, they just don't make things to last like they used to
04:50 PM Tom_L: who made sears back then?
04:50 PM JT-Shop: not sure
04:50 PM Tom_L: all their stuff was rebranded
04:51 PM Tom_L: they sold house kits at one point iirc
04:51 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> <-- lives in a sears house
04:52 PM Tom_L: Sears offered "kit homes" or "mail-order houses" between 1908 and 1940. These were complete houses, including materials and instructions, that were shipped to customers in train cars.
04:52 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> from 1915
04:52 PM Tom_L: in savannah there are some that were assembled wrong
04:52 PM Tom_L: windows upside down etc
04:52 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> lol
04:53 PM JT-Shop: I knew a guy that shingled his house from the peak down...
04:53 PM Tom_L: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/sears-mishap-house-myth
04:53 PM Tom_L: heh woops
04:55 PM Tom_L: i don't believe half what they tell you down ther
04:55 PM Tom_L: e
05:18 PM Tom_L: PR #309 for deb
