05:03 AM JT-Cave: morning
06:48 AM rdtsc-w: mo
07:18 AM JT-Cave: Tom_L, fixed the outputs and inverts for newer boards in mesact
07:22 AM Tom_L: and there's PR #148
07:26 AM Tom_L: had high winds last night blew a few small branches down
10:43 AM JT-Cave: https://ibb.co/Kxy2J28h
10:51 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Cave: hey, I was trying flex on my mill yesterday. modified the axis example to run the mill. came across a problem. got it figured out.
10:51 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> I'll put an 'issue' on your github and explain the problem and solution......
10:53 AM JT-Shop: ok great
11:06 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Shop: ok, it's in
11:06 AM rdtsc-w: find is working? nice JT :)
01:08 PM JT-Cave: rdtsc-w, yes it is working just needs a bit of polish
01:53 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Cave: did you understand my issue ????
01:57 PM Tom_L: that hal file loads after everything else so the ini would have already been read
01:57 PM JT-Cave: roguish yes I understand my issue
01:58 PM * Tom_L goes for a nap
01:58 PM JT-Cave: Tom_L, well no you have to pass the ini file to halcmd and I only passed the path to the configuration directory by mistake
01:58 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> ok. if you need more info, or a test, just let me know
01:58 PM * JT-Cave is ready for a nap
01:58 PM Tom_L: ok
02:06 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> just finished my 20 mile ride....and banana shake.....time to lay down for a bit
02:11 PM JT-Cave: reading values from the ini file should work from the post gui hal file now
02:12 PM JT-Cave: nap time here
02:19 PM lcnc-relay: <roguish> JT-Cave: thanks. make a new deb and I'll check it out
03:17 PM Tom_L: JT-Cave, PR #299 flex deb
03:21 PM Tom_L: roguish, storms might be messin with his sat
03:21 PM Tom_L: i can post one if you want
03:23 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/
03:24 PM Tom_L: just built those
03:57 PM JT-Cave: Tom_L, rdtsc just added the code search function
04:14 PM Tom_L: ok
04:14 PM Tom_L: been out cleaning up limbs
04:18 PM Tom_L: PR #300 ready
04:19 PM rdtsc-w: still at work bashing my head against a little job from 1975 - no parts available, requiring custom machining
04:19 PM Tom_L: and updated the ones on my link
05:22 PM JT-Shop: so do we want a search and replace?
05:24 PM rdtsc-w: could be handy; little experience here
05:25 PM JT-Shop: it should be somewhat easy to add
05:25 PM JT-Shop: say you had F90 but it's too fast a global search and replace would be handy
05:27 PM JT-Shop: WOW Flex just keeps getting better and better
05:43 PM Tom_L: search and replace kinda go hand in hand
05:44 PM JT-Shop: yup, I'm just stoked to get search working
05:44 PM Tom_L: i used to have a gcode editor that would do simple math etc on a file
05:44 PM Tom_L: i forget what cad package it came with
05:44 PM JT-Shop: simple math?
05:44 PM Tom_L: maybe not so much math as 'operations'
05:44 PM Tom_L: hard to explain when you forget exactly what it did
05:45 PM Tom_L: it wasn't your average editor though
05:45 PM Tom_L: i used it a few times but preferred other editors for general editing
05:46 PM Tom_L: it came with smartcam
05:46 PM Tom_L: just found it
05:48 PM Tom_L: resequence, operate, repeat, abs>inc, inc>abs, expand
05:49 PM Tom_L: https://www.smartcamcnc.com/Technical_Support/Utilities/ts_ep_comm.php
05:49 PM Tom_L: hah, june 1996
05:52 PM Tom_L: installs on win7 32
07:42 PM rdtsc: burned .iso to SD, kernel panics at boot... uphill battle again
08:20 PM rdtsc: interesting... https://michlstechblog.info/blog/linux-disable-assignment-of-new-names-for-network-interfaces/
08:26 PM rdtsc: and then get scolded for trying it... https://www.reddit.com/r/debian/comments/17awpo3/cannot_revert_to_old_network_interface_names_in/
08:27 PM rdtsc: ironically had this duplicate network adapter issue (two wlan0's) on the rpi5, after the dongle was added... just disabled the built-in, since that needed to be disabled anyways.
08:31 PM Tom_L: hope you're taking good notes
08:33 PM rdtsc: found that the 6.1.0.35 rpi5 kernel does not have a [rp5] section in the config.txt... wonder if that's why it panics
08:50 PM rdtsc: wow, totally black screen, zero activity lol
08:53 PM rdtsc: allrighty then, looks like trying 6.12.11 next
09:02 PM rdtsc: of course NOW i find the backup of the working rpi5 config lol
09:03 PM rdtsc: ok enough for me, have a good night.
