04:27 AM Tom_L: morning
04:41 AM JT-Cave: morning
07:13 AM Tom_L: PR #286
07:20 AM JT-Cave: thanks
08:54 AM rdtsc-w: just a note JT that apt-updated flexgui last night (after having to do one with the .deb) and that upgraded fine. Then tested it (no LED buttons yet) and everything worked fine there too. This is with a [FLEX] and [FLEX_COLORS] still in the .ini
08:55 AM JT-Shop: the section is changed to [FLEXGUI]
08:56 AM JT-Shop: https://gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/flexgui/ini.html#led-defaults
08:56 AM rdtsc-w: Had heard that; still working with [FLEX] for the moment anyways. Will change it tonight.
09:40 AM Tom_L: officially on vacation
09:46 AM JT-Shop: I started to go to empire but forgot something so came back then looked on radar and put the truck back in the garage
09:55 AM Tom_L: i've parked my work vehicle until i return
09:55 AM Tom_L: had to put his bike in sideways at the back of the garage but it fits
09:56 AM Tom_L: the other truck will fit straight in on my side and we'll take the 2nd truck
09:56 AM Tom_L: looks like we may be driving thru storms tomorrow
09:58 AM JT-Shop: how's the bike riding coming along?
09:59 AM Tom_L: he's getting impatient. needs to get an M on his license but the class was full until we get back
09:59 AM Tom_L: been practicing in a local parking lot a bit
10:00 AM Tom_L: so it's been sitting more than riding
10:01 AM Tom_L: he can take a riding test but really hasn't had time and either way he's gonna take the riding class
10:03 AM rdtsc-w: have a good time Tom! :)
10:04 AM Tom_L: thanks
10:24 AM JT-Shop: when I tried to take the riding test years ago on a goldwing I knocked over too many cones because you can't see them with the faring in the way
10:24 AM JT-Shop: they finally changed the test to a more sensible test and I took that on a small bike so I got a 100
10:25 AM JT-Shop: she sits in the easy chair in the back
10:26 AM Tom_L: i looked at trikes when we were out there but i don't think i'd want one
10:26 AM Tom_L: single front wheel isn't as stable as 2
10:26 AM JT-Shop: I drove a few trikes and didn't like them
10:27 AM JT-Shop: the spyder is much easier to drive than a trike
10:27 AM Tom_L: yeah i can see that
10:28 AM JT-Shop: the trikes I drove took a lot of pressure to steer vs the spyder which steers very easy
11:16 AM JT-Cave: just finished moving all the flex options to flexgui
11:17 AM Tom_L: ok
11:17 AM Tom_L: i'll build here in a bit
11:23 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> how's the weather back there guys ???
11:24 AM Tom_L: spring like
11:24 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> same here
11:24 AM Tom_L: cloudy but no rain yet
11:25 AM Tom_L: small hail couple days ago
11:25 AM lcnc-relay: <roguish> sunny and warming up ...........
11:25 AM rdtsc-w: 60-something out there now and fairly sunny... grass is turning green
11:27 AM Tom_L: weeds are coming to life
11:27 AM Tom_L: JT-Cave, PR #287
11:36 AM JT-Cave: got it thanks
11:37 AM * JT-Cave thinks it's time for a nap
11:44 AM Tom_L: no labels have leds yet right?
02:41 PM C5-Shop: don't know what labels to add leds to... ideas?
04:02 PM Tom_L: block del, axis enabled, estop, power, op_stop, flood, mist, probe enabled, manual mode, auto mode, spindle on, joint/axis homed
04:03 PM Tom_L: maybe not all of those but who knows what someone would want indicated
04:04 PM xxcoder: cn make it an option?
04:04 PM Tom_L: they're all optional afik
04:04 PM Tom_L: basically anything that can give a 'state' feedback
04:05 PM Tom_L: i wouldn't use them all but if i had a button on one tab i could have a label on another and know if it were enabled
04:07 PM Tom_L: https://www.gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/flexgui/labels.html
04:07 PM Tom_L: certainly not all of those but ones that makes sense
04:08 PM Tom_L: user defined labels like hal pin stuff
04:11 PM Tom_L: maybe they wanna watch a certain io pin
04:12 PM Tom_L: the bool labels
04:12 PM xxcoder: nice. ok
04:13 PM Tom_L: multi state could have multi color labels... that might be stretching it a bit
04:13 PM Tom_L: you did ask :)
04:13 PM xxcoder: yeah. was wondering if user configurable and it seems to be
04:13 PM Tom_L: https://www.gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/flexgui/hal.html
04:14 PM Tom_L: i just wanna be sure you have plenty to do while i'm afk
04:17 PM JT-Shop: bool is the only thing that makes sense as it's off and on
04:18 PM JT-Shop: so yeah a bool hal label makes sense
04:18 PM JT-Shop: the flood and mist labels change text and now the buttons have leds
04:19 PM Tom_L: flood/mist labels or buttons?
04:19 PM Tom_L: change text
04:19 PM JT-Shop: the labels change text
04:19 PM Tom_L: not sure i've tried those
04:19 PM JT-Shop: Flood On Flood Off
04:19 PM JT-Shop: I just did
04:19 PM Tom_L: ahh ok
04:22 PM Tom_L: i don't understand the last push. disable flood mist while a program is running
04:23 PM JT-Shop: it locks up the program for a bit if you toggle either one when a program is running because it's a command
04:23 PM Tom_L: ok
04:23 PM Tom_L: i remember something about coolant being enabled more than one way
04:24 PM Tom_L: but it's somewhat foggy
04:24 PM JT-Shop: I was making a video showing the leds and discovered that issue
04:24 PM Tom_L: i was napping :)
04:25 PM Tom_L: i think i'm packed. all that's left for me is shutting the house down in the am
04:26 PM JT-Shop: you guys spend the night in galvaston tomorrow night?
04:27 PM Tom_L: we always stay in League city which is a short drive in
04:28 PM Tom_L: but yes we stay overnite
04:29 PM Tom_L: and generally take the industrial road in to the port which is alot less traffic
04:30 PM Tom_L: harborside drive
04:31 PM Tom_L: once you cross the bridge
04:32 PM JT-Shop: the good news is the new actuator doesn't leak at the fitting
04:32 PM Tom_L: that was a mess
04:33 PM Tom_L: the port is at 25th & harborside drive so it takes you right in front of the parking lot while everybody else is taking the main road in
04:34 PM JT-Shop: you've done that a few times
04:34 PM Tom_L: a couple :)
04:34 PM JT-Shop: I've never been on a cruse ship
04:34 PM Tom_L: it's not for everyone but they seem to like it
04:35 PM xxcoder: I doubt I ever will. too much money lol
04:35 PM Tom_L: some of the destinations are interesting
04:35 PM JT-Shop: Nelida took a cruse once and was very disappointed in the cabin
04:35 PM Tom_L: we did an inside room once but never again
04:35 PM JT-Shop: I think she watched too many episodes of love boat lol
04:35 PM Tom_L: feel like you're in a dongeon
04:35 PM Tom_L: dungeon
04:36 PM Tom_L: we usually try to get a balcony
04:36 PM JT-Shop: does an outside room have a balcony?
04:36 PM Tom_L: most of them
04:36 PM Tom_L: some lower decks don't
04:36 PM Tom_L: close to the water line
04:37 PM Tom_L: she goes thru all the floor plans and finds what's available that we know are 'good'
04:39 PM Tom_L: the rear are a bit noiser but not annoying
04:40 PM Tom_L: https://www.cruisemapper.com/deckplans/Carnival-Jubilee-2077
04:43 PM Tom_L: the lower decks will have a window instead of a balcony
04:44 PM Tom_L: unless it's an interior room
04:44 PM JT-Shop: Carnival Excel Presidential Suite
04:44 PM Tom_L: there are 2 of those
04:44 PM Tom_L: deck 17
04:45 PM JT-Shop: one on each side of the bow?
04:45 PM Tom_L: yes
04:45 PM Tom_L: just above the bridge floor
04:55 PM JT-Shop: which cruise are you taking?
05:02 PM Tom_L: what do you mean?
05:02 PM Tom_L: 7 day
05:03 PM JT-Shop: eastern or western Caribbean
05:04 PM Tom_L: cosumel, costa maya, honduras
05:04 PM JT-Shop: cool
05:04 PM Tom_L: last year was dominican republic, puerto rico and one other i forget
05:05 PM Tom_L: st martin maybe
05:05 PM JT-Shop: we've been to PR a few times, Nelida is Puerto Rican
05:05 PM Tom_L: kids liked the fort
05:05 PM JT-Shop: that was cool
05:06 PM JT-Shop: last time we went to a beach to scatter her mom's ashes into the sea
05:07 PM Tom_L: i forget if we took the nieces that time or not
05:07 PM Tom_L: i think we did
05:07 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/temp/San_Juan/Fort3.jpg
05:08 PM Tom_L: the side was buldged out on that thing
05:08 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/temp/San_Juan/Fort1.jpg
05:09 PM Tom_L: ship view
05:09 PM Tom_L: that was '23
05:10 PM Tom_L: so '24 we took the girls
