08:57 AM JT-Shop: fire 1 started
09:02 AM JT-Woodshop is now known as C3-Shop
09:02 AM C3-Shop: fire 2 started
09:06 AM Tom_L: i see why you grow weary of #linuxcnc at times
09:44 AM JT-Cave: well I got tired of the childish comments
09:46 AM Tom_L: i got throwwn under the buss for not replying to farmer when i wasn't even there
09:46 AM Tom_L: and he never addressed me at all
09:48 AM JT-Shop: wow
09:48 AM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> i never addressed you because you got after me for being off topic. i was in a suicidal state, and you dismissed me and told me to stay on topic....
09:49 AM Tom_L: i didn't tell you anything directly sir
09:57 AM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> i was talking with a group, you responded to that group that i was in.
09:57 AM lcnc-relay: https://paste.debian.net/1344850/
10:13 AM C3-Shop: take this to #linuxcnc please as it has nothing to do with flex
10:13 AM Tom_L: i stated an opinion
10:13 AM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer@> whatever, enjoy your lives, knowing that mine will likely end soon... Bye
10:15 AM Tom_dev: File "/home/tom/flexgui/flexgui/src/flexqss", line 24, in <module>
10:15 AM Tom_dev: from libflexgui import qss_gradiant
10:15 AM Tom_dev: ImportError: cannot import name 'qss_gradiant' from 'libflexgui' (unknown location)
10:29 AM C3-Shop: ok
10:29 AM C3-Shop: typo
10:32 AM Tom_L: couple places it looks like
10:32 AM Tom_L: not just 24
10:32 AM JT-Cave: LOL forgot to save flexqss after making the spello fix
10:33 AM Tom_L: that and ln 50
10:33 AM Tom_L: i fixed mine
10:34 AM JT-Cave: all fixed now
10:34 AM JT-Cave: forgot to save the file after making the changes
10:36 AM Tom_L: 253
10:36 AM Tom_L: works now too :)
10:37 AM Tom_L: i swear you do that to see if i check :)
10:38 AM JT-Cave: LOL
10:39 AM JT-Cave: crap I didn't push pull in the right order...
10:40 AM Tom_L: what does apply gradient do?
10:41 AM Tom_L: doesn't seem to do alot here
10:41 AM Tom_L: i forgot to add a direction
10:43 AM Tom_L: apply gradient shows the 4th color in the preview
10:44 AM Tom_L: not the gradient
10:45 AM Tom_L: cancel in the color picker doesn't keep the original color picked but reverts to white
10:45 AM JT-Cave: no error checking yet
10:46 AM JT-Cave: select direction, colors 1 & 2 and set the start point for color 2 then apply
10:46 AM Tom_L: ahh ok, wasn't sure what you meant by that
10:46 AM JT-Cave: error checking and instructions are next
10:47 AM Tom_L: i'll save the complaint department for later then
10:47 AM JT-Cave: if you pick the start and end for color 1 and the start for color 2 0.1 higher then it's two colors like for a power meter
10:47 AM Tom_L: ok it's making more sense now
10:49 AM JT-Cave: https://pasteboard.co/k3UYKMxS1hQU.png
10:49 AM JT-Cave: if you want fuzzy cross over leave the ends at 0.00
10:49 AM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/gradients.png
10:50 AM JT-Cave: https://pasteboard.co/NdWDEZxiD8Sg.png
10:51 AM Tom_L: seems both methods are very similar
10:51 AM JT-Cave: change the starts to .41 .61 .81 and see what you get
10:51 AM * JT-Cave heads out to the machine shop to try and cancel serious in the truck
10:52 AM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/gradient2.png
10:52 AM Tom_L: they'll pester ya for months after that
10:53 AM Tom_L: no overlap, the gradient is well defined
10:54 AM Tom_L: odd they don't use 'start' 'stop
10:54 AM Tom_L: in the qss file
10:56 AM JT-Shop: just a series of stops
10:57 AM Tom_L: overlapping even 1 seems to do a full blend
10:57 AM Tom_L: or having the start2 stop1 the same number
11:07 AM JT-Shop: yup some setting don't work so you get the default
11:10 AM JT-Shop: there's not a huge amount of info on gradients
11:10 AM Tom_L: most probably don't understand or bother with them
11:20 AM C3-Shop: the cool thing is if someone want's to do that they can see what their choices look like and modify quickly
11:21 AM Tom_L: yeah i think it's a cool idea
11:21 AM Tom_L: will gradients work on any widget?
11:22 AM Tom_L: they must work on most because i've seen a couple screenshots using them
11:23 AM Tom_L: if you wanted a consistent theme you'd need to write the settings down for each widget
11:26 AM C3-Shop: any widget that takes a color
11:27 AM C3-Shop: border-color is a bit funky
11:28 AM C3-Shop: when I was getting the oil changed on the C8 they had a C8 Z06 on the showroom floor I had to crack up at the $3,000 gas guzzler tax on the sticker
11:32 AM C3-Shop: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c3-tech-performance/4896996-82-motor-mounts.html#post1608478770
11:42 AM Tom_L: so maybe not the motor mounts...
11:44 AM Tom_L: usually if the mounts are bad you'll hear the engine rock when you jump on it
11:58 AM JT-Woodshop: our 68 impala with a 327 had a broken engine mount and if you stepped into it the cruse cable would hold the throttle wide open
11:58 AM JT-Woodshop: scared the crap out of me
11:58 AM JT-Woodshop: told my dad and we went to the chevy dealer and the service guy was telling my dad that's impossible on a new car
11:59 AM Tom_L: hehe i bet
11:59 AM JT-Woodshop: in the mean time a guy with a corvette had the same issue and the service guy stomped it and the engine turned sideways
11:59 AM Tom_L: those have always been good cars
12:00 PM Tom_L: my grandfather had one and i've had 2 which we handed down to the boys before they got their hondas
12:00 PM JT-Woodshop: all that time my dad is in the showroom hollering what do you mean you're not going to fix it under warranty
12:01 PM JT-Woodshop: fan shroud is fixed
12:01 PM Tom_L: i have seen restraint chains bolted to the engine & frame on performance cars before
12:06 PM JT-Woodshop: you can get solid mounts for the c3
12:07 PM Tom_L: makes it noisier
12:07 PM JT-Woodshop: they did change the design to have tabs that prevent them from coming apart if the rubber breaks'
12:07 PM Tom_L: i've seen those
12:07 PM JT-Woodshop: nap time
12:07 PM Tom_L: lunch then maybe a nap
12:08 PM JT-Woodshop: Bubba fix now nap
12:30 PM xxcoder: so jelious of you guys being able to nap
03:13 PM JT-Shop: the C3 runs again and idles a lot better
03:13 PM xxcoder: your car?
03:14 PM JT-Shop: yes
03:14 PM xxcoder: cool :) whats you do?
03:15 PM JT-Shop: 43 year old car https://pasteboard.co/IVGnQhlfxcwN.jpg
03:15 PM JT-Shop: I fixed the horn, lights, light doors, brakes, suspension and put a new carburetor on it
03:16 PM xxcoder: its definitely your doors fix that fixed the idle
03:16 PM xxcoder: kidding aside, thats cool
03:16 PM xxcoder: just not my car style lol
03:17 PM xxcoder: if I wanted vehicle for fun driving, it would probably be some tiny car or truck
03:17 PM JT-Shop: the C3 is pretty narrow
03:17 PM JT-Shop: I've always wanted a late model C3 since the 80's but never could afford one
03:17 PM xxcoder: lik that japanese tiny truck
03:17 PM xxcoder: kei
03:19 PM xxcoder: I hope that telo thing takes off
03:19 PM JT-Shop: they have some of those or the korean ones around here mostly for farm trucks
03:19 PM xxcoder: it looks like very strong for small truck
03:20 PM xxcoder: 6,600 towing limit if I remember right
03:20 PM JT-Shop: interesting if you have a free way to charge it
03:21 PM xxcoder: yeah. even if not free, its still cheaper than gas
03:21 PM xxcoder: reminds me of that guy who imported chinese cheapie ev truck
03:22 PM xxcoder: he slapped solar panel on top of it, and never plugs it into house. uses it for only farm lot though
03:22 PM xxcoder: not legal to drive on roads
03:22 PM JT-Shop: if you have a solar or wind powered charging station for an ev vehicle then that's the best you can do
03:22 PM xxcoder: yup
03:23 PM xxcoder: talking about solar power, I want to add it to my home
03:23 PM xxcoder: but I dont know
03:23 PM xxcoder: I would want 1,000 watt but not sure if its too much or not enough
03:24 PM JT-Shop: depends on your usage and how much sun you have
03:24 PM xxcoder: indeed
03:24 PM xxcoder: biggest power usage is 1000w, with microwave
03:24 PM JT-Shop: I live in a wooded area so solar is not effective
03:24 PM xxcoder: my pc is always on, but not exactly high power at 50-80w
03:24 PM xxcoder: it sucks that wind power cheap kits all are basically scams.
03:25 PM JT-Shop: the microwave is only for short times so the battery is the storage device
03:25 PM xxcoder: biggest long term power draw would be 2 mini heaters at 400w each, or ac
03:25 PM xxcoder: I dont know how much power ac uses
03:26 PM xxcoder: I kinda want to remove ac and put in split mini ac
03:26 PM JT-Shop: you power supplier should have data on your usage day to day
03:26 PM xxcoder: yeah its for entire house though
03:27 PM JT-Shop: that's what you need to know
03:27 PM xxcoder: maybe I can use killowatt since homes powered from one 20a plug right now
03:29 PM xxcoder: I want to have good lifepo4 batteries for it too :)
03:29 PM Tom_L: rpi would take alot fewer watts
03:29 PM xxcoder: man I love those
03:29 PM xxcoder: my ups was upgraded from lead acid to lifepo4 and im very impressed
03:31 PM Tom_L: sounds like you're ready for the alignment shop
03:31 PM JT-Shop: yup, I need a fitting for my vacuum gauge so I can set the idle mixture tomorrow
03:34 PM Tom_L: you don't like the quick connect idea???
03:34 PM JT-Shop: a quick connect would be a bit big for a 1/8" vacuum hose lol
03:35 PM Tom_L: what was that one on the other carb for?
03:35 PM JT-Shop: brake booster
03:35 PM Tom_L: ahh ok
03:36 PM JT-Shop: the fan shroud was just hanging by two bolts and the bottom tabs were not in the slots
03:36 PM Tom_L: think it's gonna be a steak night
03:37 PM JT-Shop: am I surprised?
03:37 PM Tom_L: rubber mounts on the bottom?
03:37 PM JT-Shop: shrimp here
03:37 PM JT-Shop: tab and slot
03:37 PM xxcoder: oh good prep extra for me
03:37 PM Tom_L: i'm lettin someone else do the work
03:37 PM Tom_L: they're pretty good at it
03:38 PM JT-Shop: roads cleared up
03:38 PM Tom_L: getting better here
03:38 PM Tom_L: no trash service last 2 days
03:38 PM Tom_L: that means they'll probably skip a week
03:39 PM Tom_L: mailman walked the route instead of his truck
03:39 PM Tom_L: bbl
03:39 PM JT-Shop: we got mail today, roads are not bad
03:40 PM Tom_L: i'd guess about 10"
03:40 PM Tom_L: overall
04:42 PM * JT-Shop is in clean out crap mode
04:43 PM xxcoder: always fun
04:43 PM xxcoder: need to do same
04:44 PM JT-Shop: yup when you collect crap for 50 years it's time to let some go
05:01 PM Tom_L: what do you let go of first though?
05:01 PM JT-Shop: anything I haven't used in 20 years or more
05:02 PM Tom_L: even going early the lot was packed
05:02 PM Tom_L: but it was worth it
05:02 PM JT-Shop: dinner?
05:02 PM Tom_L: yeah
05:02 PM Tom_L: they're full from the time they open til close
05:03 PM JT-Shop: do they take reservations?
05:03 PM Tom_L: you have to if you want to sit down
05:03 PM Tom_L: we have the app and make a reservation via phone
05:03 PM Tom_L: https://www.texasroadhouse.com/
05:04 PM xxcoder: fancy
05:04 PM JT-Shop: our favorite Italian restaurant in Eureka Springs does not take reservations
05:04 PM Tom_L: on friday if you don't get a reservation by 4 it's a 2 hr wait
05:05 PM JT-Shop: so the old gal decided to sleep in the nest box again tonight
05:09 PM Tom_L: you have 2 left right?
05:10 PM JT-Shop: yup
05:13 PM JT-Shop: the old one is 7 1/4 years old and the other is 4 3/4 years old
05:13 PM Tom_L: doesn't seem like you've had them that long
05:14 PM xxcoder: time sure goes by fast eh
05:14 PM JT-Shop: I started about 8 years ago and a dog killed all the first batch
05:14 PM Tom_L: i recall something getting in
05:14 PM JT-Shop: the dog didn't get to go home that day
05:15 PM Tom_L: had a visit with Mr Smith and his partner Wesson?
05:16 PM JT-Shop: it got lead poisoning
05:17 PM JT-Shop: I have a Dan Wesson .357 but used a ruger .22
05:17 PM JT-Shop: I shot the .357 so much I had to replace the barrel
05:17 PM Tom_L: i have a 6" stainless S&W
05:17 PM JT-Shop: I have two barrels for the DW one short and one long
05:18 PM Tom_L: haven't had it out in a very long time
05:18 PM JT-Shop: you can change them
05:18 PM Tom_L: i had some factory loads i'm kinda afraid to use
05:18 PM Tom_L: it backs the primer out and they get stuck
05:19 PM Tom_L: pretty hefty punch
05:19 PM JT-Shop: I have a SW .44 magnum that is nice to shoot... it's heavy so very easy to control
05:19 PM Tom_L: i liked the 44 too
05:19 PM JT-Shop: that's too much pressure
05:19 PM Tom_L: my bud sold me this one and he had a 41 & 44
05:20 PM Tom_L: he used to match shoot
05:20 PM Tom_L: the 41 was fun
05:21 PM JT-Shop: I like my M1 Garand
05:22 PM Tom_L: single shot?
05:22 PM Tom_L: no
05:22 PM JT-Shop: 10 rounds per mag iirc
05:22 PM Tom_L: i used to have a .222 i'd reload
05:23 PM JT-Shop: semi auto 30:06
05:23 PM Tom_L: i'm not real sure what i did with the reloading stuff now
05:23 PM JT-Shop: a Corvette friend is into match shooting long range
05:23 PM Tom_L: i'd go once in a while but not like he did
05:24 PM Tom_L: you have plenty of room for it but not so much here
05:25 PM JT-Shop: my friend and dentist has a range set up with multiple skeet launchers and up to 500 yard targes
05:25 PM JT-Shop: targets
05:26 PM Tom_L: mmm i don't remember now if it was a .222 or .223
05:26 PM JT-Shop: they have night shoots with black lights
05:26 PM Tom_L: fun
05:27 PM JT-Shop: clay targets glow in black light
05:27 PM Tom_L: didn't know that
05:30 PM JT-Shop: hmm only one hen is in the nest box so time to go in and check on them
05:31 PM * JT-Shop calls it a night
05:31 PM Tom_L: later
